Players now can catch the Galarian regional variants of Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno in Pokemon GO. Here’s how to do it!
Every Pokemon trainer wants to catch as many Pokemon as possible and the Legendary Pokemon are especially sought-after.
Recently, the Galarian variants of the Legendary Birds were found in Pokemon GO for the first time. Therefore, nobody expected Galarian Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno to arrive in the game so soon after.
There is only one way to catch these Legendary Birds in Pokemon GO right now though.
How to Catch Galarian Zapdos, Moltres & Articuno in Pokemon GO With Daily Adventure Incense
The only way to catch Galarian Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno in Pokemon GO is by using Daily Adventure Incense. Here’s how to do it:
- First, you need to activate the Daily Adventure Incense.
- During the 15 minutes the Daily Adventure Incense is active, make sure you are moving. This will spawn Pokemon in your location.
- If you are very lucky, a Galarian version of Zapdos, Moltres, or Articuno will spawn.
- Then, you can catch them!
- If you don’t encounter any of these Pokemon, be sure to try again using the Daily Adventure Incense tomorrow. Expect it to take plenty of tries to catch all 3 as the spawn rates are very low!
Unfortunately, even if you encounter any of the Galarian Legendary Birds while your Daily Adventure Incense is active, catching them is extremely difficult.

Galarian Legendary Birds Catch & Flee Rate
According to datamining group Pokeminers, the catch rate for Galarian Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno is very low and they are very likely to flee too!
The catch rate is just 0.3%, making them 10x harder to catch than other Legendary Pokemon. Of course, you can boost this using a Berry but, even then, catching one will require a lot of luck!
Meanwhile, the flee rate is 90% so it will almost certainly run away after you throw the first Pokeball!
