With two Woopers to evolve in the November 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day, plenty of players will have a choice to make – should you evolve Wooper or Paldean Wooper?
The November 2023 Community Day is introducing the Paldean regional variant of Wooper to Pokemon GO, and this version also evolves into a different Pokemon, Clodsire.
While it may seem like a simple choice to evolve Paldean Wooper first, the decision isn’t that easy. This is because both Clodsire and the standard Wooper’s evolution, Quagsire, have featured attacks.
Don’t worry, though, we’ve got the answer for this evolution dilemma!
Is it Better to Evolve Wooper or Paldean Wooper?
Despite Paldean Wooper being the newer Pokemon, it is actually better to evolve the standard Wooper during the November 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day.
This is because Quagsire’s featured attack, Aqua Tail, is much more useful than the Megahorn featured attack for Clodsire.
Therefore, if you only have enough Candy for one evolution, you should prioritize evolving Wooper into Quagsire.
Although, if you have enough Wooper Candy to evolve both during the November 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day, you should still do that, as the only other way to get Megahorn is by using an Elite Charged TM.
Plus, it’s very easy to earn enough Candy to evolve both Woopers and get both of the featured attacks.
How to Evolve Both Woopers on Community Day
If you want to evolve both Wooper and Paldean Wooper during the November 2023 Pokemon GO Community Day, you’ll need 100 Wooper Candy, as each evolution costs 50. Fortunately, it is pretty easy to earn this much Candy during the event, if you don’t already have enough.
To earn more Candy on the Wooper and Paldean Wooper Community Day, you can:
- Mega Evolve a Ground-type Pokemon to increase how much Candy you earn for each Wooper catch
- Mega evolving a Ground-type Pokemon gives you additional Candy for every Ground-type you catch, and both Woopers are Ground-types
- Mega Steelix, Mega Swampert, and Primal Groudon will give you this bonus
- Mega evolving a Ground-type Pokemon gives you additional Candy for every Ground-type you catch, and both Woopers are Ground-types
- Use Lure Modules and Incense during the Community Day to attract more Woopers
- Activating Lures or Incense during the event will make them last 3 hours!
- Feed Wooper and Paldean Wooper Pinap Berries when you catch them
- This will give you bonus Candy for every catch!
Once you’ve got 100 Wooper Candy, you’ll be able to evolve both the standard Wooper and the Paldean Wooper before 10 PM local time on November 5. This will let you get both Quagsire and Clodsire with their featured attacks.
