The Season 2 Reloaded update for Black Ops 6 brings a much-needed change to Amalgams and Shock Mimics in the game’s Zombies mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is dropping its mid-season update, which brings with it a whole host of new and exciting changes, alongside additional content to keep things interesting.
The Zombies community is looking forward to dropping into the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab mode, Cowabunga Cranked, despite fan claims that the mode is already Pay-to-Win.
But one minor patch note that may have gone overlooked offers a long-awaited fix to both Amalgams and Shock Mimics in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Season 2 Reloaded Fixes Amalgam & Shock Mimic
In the Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded patch notes, Activision reveals that its elite zombies have received some necessary fixes.
After players heavily criticized Amalgams and Shock Mimics due to issues caused by their grab attacks, Treyarch finally fixed the grappling mechanic to prevent further frustration.
“Addressed an issue where Shock Mimics could push players out of bounds,” the first Zombies patch note of Season 2 Reloaded reads.
We’ve seen multiple instances of players being grabbed by the electrifying enemies only to be launched inside a wall or the ground itself, leaving them trapped and unable to deal damage.
Around six hours after releasing the Season 2 Reloaded patch notes, Treyarch added one further change to the blog, which it revealed on social media site X:
It appears that the Amalgam enemies are also getting a much-needed fix to their grab attacks.
Players were reporting that regular zombies were still able to target and damage them when they were in the clutches of an Amalgam – which often ends with them instantly getting downed.
Now, players should be invulnerable to other enemies while in the grab animation, but we still don’t recommend getting so close to an Amalgam if you can help it!
