Players hoping to learn what exactly happened to Zelda may want to take on The Beast and the Princess Side Adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
This quest will see you adventuring across Hyrule in search of a mystical beast that Princess Zelda was rumored to have been seen riding before her disappearance.
However, finding out where the subtropical region the beast is supposed to be in can be tricky. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered and have outlined every step you need to take below.
How to Complete The Beast and the Princess in TOTK
To complete The Beast and the Princess Side Adventure in TOTK, players must first head to New Serenne Stable and talk to Penn.
From there, they will need to travel to the Lakeside Stable in Faron. Finally, players must glide across to Cima’s camp and talk to her to complete the quest.
How to Start The Beast and the Princess Quest TOTK
To start The Beast and the Princess Side Adventure, you must first begin the Potential Princess Sightings questline by talking to Penn at the Lucky Clover Gazette near Rito Village.
Once you’ve done that, follow these instructions:
- Head to New Serenne Stable near Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower (coordinates -1347, 0734, 0085).
- Talk to Penn.
- Receive The Beast and the Princess Side Adventure.
After getting the Side Adventure, you’re going to want to head to the Lakeside Stable in the Faron region. More on that below.
Where to Find the Subtropical Region in TOTK
The Subtropical Region described by Penn in The Beast and the Princess Quest is Faron, the jungle-esque area to the south. More specifically, you need to head to the Lakeside Stable (see map below).
The Lakeside Stable (coordinates 1553, -3523, 0060) is located next to the Joju-u-u Shrine. It is directly East of the Highland Stable.
You can get to it easily by traveling Southeast from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower.
Where to Find the Beast Location in TOTK
The beast is a Dondon located in Cima’s camp to the North of Lakeside Stable. To find it, you must head to the shelter North of the stable and glide across to the cliff on the other side.
Here are the complete instructions on how to get there:
- Head directly North from the Stable straight past Beedle.
- On your right, you will see Shay standing under a shelter on your right.
- Talk to him, and he will reveal the location of the beast.
- Glide across to the campfire visible from Shay’s shelter.
- If you don’t have enough stamina to reach it, follow these instructions:
- Head left of Shay’s shelter until the gap between both cliffs is shorter.
- Glide across and climb up the rest of the way.
- If you don’t have enough stamina to reach it, follow these instructions:
- Speak to Cima (the lady sweeping next to the campfire).
- Coordinates 1537, -3358, 0058
- Penn will appear and give you your reward.
- You’ve completed The Beast and the Princess quest.
You don’t actually need to find the rumored beast, as it just turns out to be a Dondon that Cima is looking after.
If you want to know what the Beast looks like, you’ll find them grazing around the shelter Cima is sweeping under.
What Reward Do You Get for Completing The Beast and the Princess TOTK?
You are given 50 Rupees by Penn for completing The Beast and the Princess Side Adventure in Tears of the Kingdom.
Depending on how many of the Potential Princess Sightings quests you’ve completed, of which The Beast and the Princess is one, you may also unlock a piece of the Froggy Armor set!
