Tears of the Kingdom All Confirmed Amiibo Support

You can scan each amiibo once per day to get one of their unique rewards.

It is worth noting that all armor set pieces can be obtained in-game without the need for an amiibo at different points in the story and through unique quests.

Unfortunately, the Paraglider Fabrics you unlock via amiibo are exclusive rewards and can’t be obtained in the game in any other way.

In addition, Nintendo confirms that Tears of the Kingdom can read all amiibo, but only the Legend of Zelda-themed ones offer specific rewards.

Don’t forget to order the new Tears of the Kingdom Link amiibo here! The other supported amiibo are already available.

How to Enable & Scan Amiibos

You can enable amiibo scanning from the Options Menu once you’ve reached the surface of Hyrule. After this feature is active, simply hold the L button and choose “amiibo” with the right stick.

Proceed to scan your amiibo by placing it on the right Joy-Con Stick, or on the Nintendo Switch Logo of the Pro Controller.

  • Progress in the game until you’ve reached the surface of Hyrule. This can take anywhere between one and three hours depending on your gameplay style.
  • Press “+” to access the Menu and go to the “System Tab” by pressing the L or R buttons.
  • Select Options and make sure you have the “amiibo enabled” option.
  • Exit the menus. Press and hold the “L” button.
  • Select the “amiibo” option using the right stick.
  • Scan your amiibo by positioning it right on top of the right Joy-Con Stick, or on the Nintendo Switch Logo of the Pro Controller.

How to Obtain the Exact Reward You Want From an Amiibo

To obtain a specific reward from scanning an amiibo, you can hard save from the “Save” option in the System menu, scan the amiibo, and reload the save if you did not get the reward you wanted.

  • Press “+” to access the Menu and go to the “System Tab” by pressing the L or R buttons.
  • Select Save to create a hard save.
  • Scan the amiibo. If you did not receive the reward you want, go to the System menu again and select Load.
  • Make sure you load the hard save you created, and not the automatic save the game creates after scanning an amiibo.
  • Once the file loads, scan the amiibo again and repeat this process until you get the reward you want.

How to Scan an Amiibo More Than Once Per Day

You can change the date of your Nintendo Switch console to the next day to rescan an amiibo you have already scanned that same day.

This change can be done from the Date and Time setting under the System Menu of your Nintendo Switch.

  • Make sure that you close Tears of the Kingdom first. This can be done by going to the icon of the game on the main menu of the Nintendo Switch and pressing the X button.
  • From the main menu of your Nintendo Switch select the gear icon on the lower section to open System Settings.
  • Scroll all the way down and select the Systems option.
  • Select Date and Time.
  • If the option “Synchronize Clock via Internet” is active, turn it off.
  • Select the Date and Time option and adjust it to the next day.
  • Select “OK” and press the B button to exit the menus.
  • Once all this is done, you can open Tears of the Kingdom again and rescan the amiibo you want.
