Xbox Series X Stock Shortage to Continue into 2022

Bad news gamers, the huge Xbox Series X stock shortage isn’t going to end any time soon. See what Phil Spencer said about the lack of next-gen consoles.

It probably won’t be news to you that it’s almost impossible to purchase a next-gen console at the moment.

In fact, ever since Microsoft released the Xbox Series X last year, it has been extremely hard to get hold of. Customers have to rely on irregular stock drops to get the chance to buy a new Xbox.

Luckily, there could be Xbox Series X restocks this week at Microsoft, Antonine, and more. Plus, another major retailer GameStop will be having a major Xbox restock this week too.

However, the likelihood of there being Xbox Series X consoles on store shelves this year is very unlikely…

There Will Still Be Xbox Series X Stock Shortages in 2022

Although the Xbox Series X has been in stock in many major retailers recently, the number of consoles on sale has been limited. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this will change any time soon.

In a new interview with The Wrap, transcribed by VGC, Xbox boss Phil Spencer addressed the stock Xbox Series X stock shortage.

Spencer revealed that it isn’t just chips that are in short supply. There are apparently “multiple” pinch points in the process which will lead to consoles not being readily available for a long time.

Something clearly must have changed since Microsoft claimed that the Xbox Series X shortage was coming to an end.

“I think regretfully it’s [the Xbox Series X stock shortage] going to be with us for months and months, definitely through the end of this calendar year and into the next calendar year.”

This will come as some very disappointing news for Xbox fans everywhere. What makes this matter even worse is that Sony has secured enough chips to potentially end the PS5 shortage.

Let’s hope that Xbox can sort out the supply chain issues soon and that Xbox Series X consoles are readily available for everyone in the near future.

What might be even more frustrating than not being able to buy a console, is not receiving your order. Find out why Xbox and PS5 orders are being canceled.

Maybe even worse is that scalpers are selling Halo Infinite Xbox Series X consoles for huge profit. They are taking the few opportunities to buy a console away from customers!

Finally, find out how to upgrade your Xbox Series X/S storage space. You’ll want to know this so you can install all of the huge upcoming games.

Typical. Plastic and microchips my ass. Pandemic my ass. Then stop supporting games with optimizations for the new consoles. It’s as bad as releasing a game that’s half finished. Typical Typical Typical.

You know they could set up a pre-order system that puts you in a queue when your xbox is made they just auto ship it to you. I would of signed up for that a long time ago. I'm not willing to sit on some website hoping to be one of the few to get my click on in time. I have an Xbox one x. Thank God because there are more and more games that aren't playable on the one s anymore.

I don't think Microsoft cares about scalping or they would have set up a pre-order system.

I guess by the time you can finally get a series x, they will be coming out with another system. Noone will want them then. How about doing something about the scalpers Microsoft?
