According to new reports, a major Xbox Game Pass expansion may be coming soon.
Xbox Game Pass is the best value gaming subscription service on the market. As it stands, subscribers get access to a vast library of games, across both Xbox consoles and PC, for a monthly fee.
Not only do major first-party titles, like the upcoming Halo Infinite, drop on Game Pass, but other AAA titles are also present. What's more, Xbox has now partnered with EA, to bring EA Play to Xbox Game Pass in its entirety.
But that isn't the only major expansion that Xbox Game Pass may be getting. According to rumors, Microsoft is in talks to also include Ubisoft Plus in its service.
This would give subscribers access to even more AAA experiences, such as Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Watch Dogs Legion.
Xbox Game Pass: What's Coming Next?
According to new rumors, Xbox Game Pass is reaching out to a range of other major developers, in an effort to strike further deals.
In a new edition of The Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden of Windows Central dropped some new information. Previously, the gamer has been revealing insider information about the potential Ubisoft deal, but now he has something new to share.
If Jez Corden's information is correct, Xbox has been in talks with as many publishers as possible. In fact, Corden has actually heard that Microsoft is talking with "basically every major publisher."
Talking on the Xbox-themed podcast, Corden had this to say:
"It's not as much of a revelation as you might think, because Microsoft didn't just get EA Play and think, 'we're going to stop there.' They're all in on trying to get all publishers to bring their games to Game Pass.
EA was a big get for Microsoft, but perhaps the company was just the first company to accept the offer. Soon, Xbox Game Pass could expand further, and encompass the libraries of more major publishers.
Microsoft also recently acquired Bethesda, as part of a huge purchase of ZeniMax Media. This was another big move on the company's part, but we're willing to bet that even Microsoft doesn't have the money to buy out the entire industry this way.
Here's what's coming to Xbox Game Pass in January 2021. And going further, here are all the new Xbox Series X/S games set to release this year.
