Xbox fans are becoming uninterested in Call of Duty Vanguard, thanks to Halo and Battlefield 2042.
There’s no denying that 2021 is a good year for fans of the FPS genre. With Call of Duty: Vanguard, Halo Infinite, and Battlefield 2042 releasing later this holiday season, it’s going to be a busy time for Multiplayer fans!
And there’s even a new free-to-play Multiplayer shooter coming soon that many gamers aren’t talking about. On top of that, Splitgate is so popular that fans have been queueing for an hour just to get online.
But it seems that Xbox fans are taking a stand against Call of Duty in 2021. And many users report a lack of interest in the upcoming Vanguard WW2 title.
It seems that Vanguard will bring an anti-cheat to Warzone, however, and that’s sure to bring a lot of fans back to the popular battle royale.
Vanguard vs Halo Infinite vs Battlefield 2042
In a new popular post on the Xbox Series X subreddit, fans report feeling uninterested in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Right now, we’re beginning to get official teasers for the upcoming Call of Duty title. However, it seems that many users aren’t particularly happy with the latest COD, especially, it appears, Xbox fans.
Of course, with free-to-play Multiplayer coming to Halo Infinite, there’s little doubt which Xbox shooter will be the most popular this year. But that’s not all that’s got fans feeling uninspired, it seems.
“Just saw the teaser someone posted on here. I did not care at all for what I was seeing,” Reddit user HankScorpio20 writes. “I was a kid when COD was always set in WWII and I even liked WWII a lot. But I feel so underwhelmed and like I lack the drive to even wanna try this game or even see anything for it.”
Other fans confirm that they lost interest in Call of Duty with the reveal of Battlefield 2042. Although EA’s title is very different from most Call of Duty games, it does offer the modern shooter experience that so many fans are wanting.
“My interest in COD fully disappeared when I saw BF 2042. Halo is the cherry on top,” another user writes.
Of course, it’s still likely that Vanguard will see exceptional sales on Xbox, Call of Duty titles are almost always financial successes. But it’s worth noting that this appears to be a popular consesus with the Xbox forum fans.
Call of Duty Vanguard Trailer Review Bombed
At the time of this article’s writing, the post has a score of 1886 upvotes, with around 93% of users upvoting the post. But we’ll see how things change following tomorrow’s Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal event inside Warzone.
What’s more, when the official trailers begin to drop for the game, we’re certain to see a spike in interest. But right now, in the aftermatch of the recent Activision abuse allegations, morale around a new Call of Duty title is certainly low.
Even Vanguard’s official teaser trailer has over 22,000 thumbs downs on YouTube as fans protest the return to WW2 gameplay. In case you haven’t seen, the 4 main characters and Vanguard villain are leaking early too.
