Xbox Cloud Gaming Streaming Device Confirmed by Microsoft

A recent report confirmed Microsoft is working on a streaming device for its Xbox Cloud Gaming service.

Microsoft has invested a lot of resources in its Xbox Cloud Gaming service. The tech giant has constantly restated its intention to make the Xbox brand reach as many gamers as possible.

In this endeavor, the company acquired Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion early this year. However, even if Microsoft has the games, it needs to reach as many platforms as possible.

A new report confirms Microsoft aims to continue this expansion through a dedicated streaming device for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

A recent Windows Central report confirms Microsoft is actively working on a streaming device dedicated to the Xbox Cloud Gaming service.

According to this report, this HDMI device is codenamed Keystone. Furthermore, it would run Xbox Game Pass and support the Xbox Cloud Gaming service.

This would continue recent efforts to boost the service, like adding Fortnite on the Xbox Cloud Gaming service available for free.

However, the report adds that a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed this hardware is still a work in progress. In addition, the spokesperson stated some further iterations of this product are needed before taking it to the market.

Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming is unwavering, our goal is to enable people to play the games they want, on the devices they want, anywhere they want.

It seems this device might not be coming soon. Due to this, it is unlikely we would see any information on this device in the upcoming Microsoft & Bethesda Game Showcase 2022.

Nevertheless, there are some great takes from the information in this report.

For one, it seems a way to enjoy Xbox Game Pass without the need for a console or high-end hardware could be a reality.
