A leaker has revealed whether the 2021 Call of Duty game will be cross-gen and release on PS4 and Xbox One too.

2020 was the year when consoles transitioned to a new generation, so it makes sense that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War released on both console generations.

However, with the next Call of Duty game set to release a year after the PS5 and Xbox Series X, many players are wondering what platforms the game will release on. Will Activision leave the old consoles behind or will Call of Duty 2021 be another cross-generation game?

Cross-Gen Call Of Duty in 2021?

Reliable videogames leaker Tom Henderson has revealed whether the 2021 installment of Call of Duty will be cross-gen. So will it be on the last generation of consoles in addition to the PS5 and Xbox Series X?

This new follows a huge leak which has revealed the working title and setting of Call of Duty 2021.

Henderson tweeted: "Last-gen ports are being made for 2021 and 2022". However, he also believes that this could cause problems with the file sizes for Warzone.

A new leak has revealed information about the future of Warzone and whether the game will get more maps and content. Therefore, space could be very tight for last-gen consoles.

PS4 and Xbox One players won't have to upgrade just yet as this tweet suggests that the next two Call of Duty games will be cross-gen. While we already know about the 2021 game, could the 2022 entry be the rumored standalone COD Zombies game?
