Battle Royale is one of the most popular game modes right now, but will Battlefield 2042 have one?
Battle Royale is by far the most popular game mode in all of gaming right now. Whether it’s Warzone, Fortnite, Apex Legends, or even one of the classics like PUBG, many millions of gamers play battle royale titles every day.
However, all of the Battlefield 2042 information so far has been about the classic multiplayer experience. So will Battlefield 2042 have a Battle Royale game mode or not?
Will Battlefield 2042 Have a Battle Royale Mode?
In addition to the jaw-dropping Battlefield 2042 trailer, EA and DICE have already revealed a lot of extra information about their upcoming game.

We have also been given a glimpse of all of the maps launching with Battlefield 2042. And while some of the vast maps are big enough to host a Battle Royale game, it doesn’t look like good news for fans of the genre.
DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will not have a traditional Battle Royale mode. However, an exciting new mode called Hazard Zone could be a hit with Battle Royale fans…
What is Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone?
Senior Game Designer at EA DICE, Nickole Li revealed more about the upcoming Hazard Zone mode in an interview with Inverse. She said:
“We have an intense high-stakes, squad-based mode coming called Hazard Zone. While not a Battle Royale, it scratches a similar itch. I’d highly recommend that you keep an eye out for that one.”Nickole Li
It will be interesting to see how similar Hazard Zone is to a classic Battle Royale experience, if at all. And if we are lucky, it could be shown at the upcoming Xbox E3 showcase.
