Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Merrin FAQs
Who Is Merrin?
Before Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Merrin was a Dathomirian Nightsister, an ancient order of female magick-wielding warriors who resided on the planet Dathomir.
During the Clone Wars, when Merrin was young, General Grievous came to Dathomir and slaughtered the Nightsisters. Although Merrin managed to survive, Ilyana, a Nightsister Merrin was in love with, was killed.
Sometime later, after the events of Order 66, Jedi Master Taron Malicos crash-landed on Dathomir. Upon arriving, Merrin told him to leave, but realizing the potential in Dathomir, Malicos remained.
Out of impatience, the Nightbrothers, male servants of the Nightsisters, decided to kill Malicos, despite orders from Merrin to let him leave.

However, Malicos succumbed to the Dark Side due to the dark influences of Dathomir and the rage he felt after Order 66. He managed to turn the Nightbrothers against each other and murdered their leader Brother Viscus.
Malicos then turned his attention to Merrin, whose powers of magick he wanted to steal. He manipulated her into believing the Jedi were responsible for Grievous’ attack and made her teach him her magick.
Of course, all of this is portrayed in-game by Merrin’s wonderful actor. Fortunately, she is returning for the sequel alongside several other familiar faces and veteran voice actors!
During Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
A few years after Malicos manipulated Merrin, Cal Kestis arrived on Dathomir. Malicos instructed Merrin to get rid of Kestis, but her attempts at persuading him to leave failed.
Kestis then met Malicos, who revealed he was a former Jedi. Malicos asked Kestis to join him in his quest for power, but he refused.
Merrin, confused by Malicos’ desire to welcome a Jedi, whom she still believed was responsible for the death of the Nightsisters, confronted him. However, she quickly realized he was a Jedi and raised an army of dead Nightsisters to kill him and Kestis.
However, when Kestis later returned to Dathomir, having fled after Merrin set the dead on him, he convinced her that the Jedi weren’t evil nor responsible for the death of her fellow Nightsisters.

He then dueled Malicos, aided by Merrin and her magick. Together, they defeated him by burying him alive.
Merrin then agreed to join Kestis and help him complete his quest to locate the Holocron. Together with the crew of the Mantis, they find and destroy the Holocron.

What Happened to Merrin After Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order?
Meeting Frethylrin
After the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the crew of the Mantis continued to fight against the Empire. Merrin began to feel like she was losing her magick and struggled to help her fellow crewmates.
While exploring the galaxy, the Mantis is continually attacked by the Haxion Brood, a group of bandits they had previously fought in Fallen Order.
So, together, they decide to attack and destroy their base. However, when they get there, they are ambushed by Stormtroopers. Merrin discovers that one of the Stormtroopers wants to defect and helps her onboard the Mantis as they escape.
The defecting Stormtrooper, called Chellwinark Frethylrin, convinces the crew of the Mantis she isn’t a spy and agrees to help them. Merrin quickly falls in love with Frethylrin, who is also infatuated with her.

Merrin realizes that her passion for Frethylrin is helping her deal with the loss of the Nightsisters and finds her powers of magick returning to her.
Frethylrin instructs them on a plan to steal the schematics of a cloaking device called the Shroud. She believes it can be used to aid the rebels.
Stealing the Shroud
Merrin and the Mantis Crew decide to steal the Shroud schematics with the help of Frethylrin. Before their adventure begins, Kestis discovers that Frethylrin had a girlfriend called Irei, who is believed dead but decides not to tell Merrin.
Merrin and Frethylrin strike up a relationship, falling increasingly in love with one another, and eventually, they kiss.
However, while infiltrating an Imperial base to steal the schematics, they find Irei, who had not been killed but instead taken prisoner.
Frethylrin abandons the Mantis crew and Merrin and takes Irei with her. Merrin feels betrayed and uses her dark magick to help the rest of the crew escape the base.

As they are fleeing, Frethylrin appears with a dying Irei and begs Merrin to help them. Merrin agrees, and the Mantis flies away while she heals her.
After finishing their plan to steal the Shroud schematics, Merrin and Frethylrin reconcile their differences. Frethylrin asks her to join her and Irei, but she declines and decides to stay with the Mantis.
