Where to Find Howler Claws in Fortnite

Use the power of Werewolves with the latest Mythic item in Fortnite, the Howler Claws. But you’ll need to know where to find them first.

The full moon is rising, and the spookiest season has come to Fortnite to bring some incredibly scary collaborations and some new (and returning) items.

One of the new arrivals is the Howler Claws, which are a strong Mythic item that allows you to slash your enemies. You’ll definitely want to get these as soon as you can!

How to Get Howler Claws in Fortnite

To get the Howler Claws, you’ll need to head to an Alteration Altar, where you can perform the Ritual Emote and be bestowed the Howler Claws.

The Emote will appear in your wheel once you stand on an altar.

Alteration Altar Locations

These are the locations of the Alteration Altars in Fortnite:

• Reality Tree (x3)
• North of Flutter Barn
• Northeast of Cloudy Condos
• South of Shimmering Shine
• Lustrous Lagoon
• North of Shiny Sound
• Chromejam Junction

When you arrive at any of these locations, you’re looking for towers with a strange pad on the ground nearby. If you can use the Alteration Altar, a hologram will be dancing. Stand on the altar, and the only Emote will be the Ritual Emote.

It will take a few moments before you’re given the Howler Claws, and you can be killed during this time. We recommend clearing the area of any enemies prior to using the altar.

These Howler Claws aren’t the only new thing during the event, as new Rick and Morty skins are coming to Fortnite.

After this, you’ll be able to use the Howler Claws during the match. While they don’t have the range of guns, using these terrifying claws has some exciting abilities.

What Are the Howler Claws in Fortnite?

The Howler Claws are a new Mythic Melee weapon that allow you to slash your enemies and track nearby opponents through walls.

Players can howl to activate the Wolfscent Ability, which lasts a limited amount of time. It will repeatedly track and highlight enemies in the nearby radius, before entering a cooldown period.

If you’re on the receiving end of the Wolfscent Ability, your heartbeat will be audible, getting louder as your hunter approaches.

As for the attack, players using the Howler Claws will slash in a four-combo melee attack. In the air, this slash becomes a devastating double jump that damages opponents upon landing.

That’s not the spookiest thing coming this event, as Ash Williams from Evil Dead will finally come to Fortnite.

How to Use Howler Claws in Fortnite

Players can use primary fire to slash enemies with the Howler Claws or use their alternate fire to use the Wolfscent Ability.

For the controls on each platform, that is left-click on PC, or right-trigger on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch by default. For the ability, you’ll use right-click, or left trigger respectively.
