Two new weapons are joining the fight – here’s where to find the EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChrome Burst Rifle in Fortnite.
Alongside every new season comes some new weaponry, and with Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 bringing a hefty Chrome invasion, it’s no shock that the new guns are shinier than usual.
Both the EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChrome Burst Rifle might look familiar at first, but they’re actually high-tech variants of their predecessors.
Find one of these new weapons, and you can forget about upgrading them. In fact, they’ll take care of the whole process for you – assuming you can dish out some damage.
What Are EvoChrome Weapons in Fortnite?
The EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChrome Burst Rifle are two new gun variants that start off like regular weapons but increase their rarity as you damage opposing players.
How to Upgrade EvoChrome Guns
Players can upgrade EvoChrome guns by dishing out some damage to other players. This will turn the weapons from black to Chrome, upgrading their rarity as they transform.
Players will be able to take their EvoChrome Shotgun and Burst Rifle from Uncommon to Mythic rarity, giving them a major boost to damage, reload speed, and magazine size.
And those guns won’t be the only things transforming in the new season. Here’s how to turn yourself into a Chrome blob and pass through walls!
Where to Find EvoChrome Guns
EvoChrome guns can be found inside new Chrome Chests, scattered around the Fortnite island. These chests are silvery variants of standard chests and contain exclusive loot.
You can also turn ANY chest into a Chrome Chest, upgrading its loot, by throwing a Chrome Splash at it.

- Lustrous Lagoon
- Reality Tree
- Last Legs
- Any area of the map that has been taken over by Chrome
As Chrome slowly takes over the island, we imagine the list of areas where these devastating items can be found will only increase. We’ll update our list of locations as the season progresses.
These won’t be the only new weapons making an appearance either. In the new Paradise gameplay trailer, we can see a new explosive goo weapon that should be dropping soon.
