You can find some Dusk Stones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to help a couple of very special Pokemon to evolve!

Evolution Stones are back in this mainline Pokemon game. Fortunately, there are several areas in which you can find these stones as loot scattered in Paldea.

As for Dusk Stones, there are a couple of locations where you can easily find them in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If you know where exactly to look, that is!

Where Can I Find Dusk Stones in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

You can find a Dusk Stone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet traveling east of Cascarrafa and another right behind the Gym in Montenevera. These stones are loot items in red glowing Pokeballs in these areas.

Dusk Stone #1 – East of Cascarrafa

  • Before pursuing this Dusk Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, know that the Climbing on Walls and Gliding abilities for Koraidon and Miraidon will significantly help you get to this location.
  • Starting at the academy, travel northwest until you reach Cascarrafa.
  • From the West Pokemon Center fast travel location in Cascarrafa, head east.

  • You will eventually reach a small patch of land with a single tree entirely surrounded by a rock formation.
  • The Dusk Stone is right in front of this area.

Since you are already in Cascarrafa, there is also a Dawn Stone pretty close to this location!

Dusk Stone #2 – Behind the Montenevera Gym

  • You can reach Montenevera by traveling deep within Glaseado Mountain.
  • Glaseado Mountain is reachable by traveling northwest from the Zazapico West Pokemon Center through the Dalizapa Passage.

  • Following this passage and going north will eventually lead to the Glaseado Gym.

  • From the Pokemon Center located in Glaseado Mountain, go north around the mountain to reach Montenevera.

  • Once at Montenevera, getting this Dusk Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is fairly simple. From the Pokemon Center, take the main town path east until you reach the Montenevera Gym.

  • You find the Dusk Stone behind the Montenevera Gym, contained in a red glowing Pokeball.

If you want to complete your Pokedex, look out for all the special evolutions! For example, Primeape can now evolve into Annihilape under the right circumstances.

Which Pokemon Require a Dusk Stone to Evolve?

Murkrow and Misdreavus require a Dusk Stone to evolve into Honchkrown and Mismagius respectively. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, these are the only two Pokemon that need a Dusk Stone to evolve.

A third Pokemon, Lampent, can also evolve into Chandelure with a Dusk Stone. However, this Pokemon is not present in Scarlet and Violet and can not be transferred to the game via Pokemon HOME.

Aside from these mons’ that need Dusk Stones, Pokemon like Finizen and Pawmo also have unique requirements to evolve!
