If you’re looking to build the ultimate spell caster, you’ll need to find the best staff to compliment your build in Elden Ring!
Elden Ring is a magical playground for spell casters. With so many sorceries to choose from, it can be a bit daunting to find the right staff to complement your goals.
At first, your starter staff will do fine against some of the earlier enemies. But once you reach foes with the power of Starscrouge Radahn, you’re going to need something a lot better.
Some staffs will cater to your casting speed, potency, and even spell type. You need to know where to find them and which ones are worth looking for.
To help you find these staff, make sure you know where all the Site of Grace locations are. We use them as reference points multiple times throughout this guide.

What Are the Best Staffs in Elden Ring – Location + Map
Choosing the best staff will depend on the type of spell caster you want to be.
Thankfully, you have a few great options to choose from.
Meteorite Staff
The Meteorite Staff is one of the best weapons in Elden Ring that you could find early on in your travels. Its Intelligence scaling has a rating of S, and it only requires 18 INT to equip.
The Meteorite Staff should be able to hold you off until you’re able to wield the more potent staff. Its biggest drawback is that you are unable to level up its base stats. Unlike the other staffs on this list.
It is a clear choice for the best staff early on in the game. It helps boost gravity Sorcery, which means that spells like Rock Sling, Meteorite, and Gravity Well will increase their potency.

To find it, you need to make your way to Caelid. Head to Aeonia Swamp, and you will be able to find the Meteorite Staff on a corpse hanging off the ledge of a ruin on the western side.
Just south of the Street of Sages Ruins.

Azur’s Glinstone Staff
Azur’s Glinstone Staff is a Staff that can take you to the end of Elden Ring with no issues. But you’ll need to wait until you’ve leveled up enough because the staff takes 52 INT to wield.
It allows players to cast spells more quickly at the cost of consuming additional Focus Points per spell.

Players will find it in the Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurna of the Lakes. To get here, you’ll need to make your way to the rooftops of the Church of Cuckoo.
Drop down to the second floor, where you should see some enemies patrolling the base. Find the door that leads to a hallway with a knight guarding it.
Defeat the knight, and you’ll see a sphere of faces at the end with Azur’s Glinstone Staff in front of it.

Lusat’s Staff
Lusat’s staff is another Staff that players can easily wield in the game’s later stages. Like Azur’s Glinstone Staff, players will need 52 INT to wield it.
It allows players to cast spells with more potency at the cost of consuming additional Focus Points per spell.

You will be able to find it back in Caelid, but doing so will require you to fight duo bosses, so it’s best to come prepared. We recommend locating the best Talisman in the game to help you overcome this fight.
To get to this fight, you’ll need to head to Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Head to the Sellia Under-Stair Site of Grace and head left before entering the town.
Follow the wall, and you’ll come across a gate that will lead you to the boss fight. Defeat the Nox Swordstress & Nox Priest. You’ll be able to access the chest with Lusat’s Staff behind them.

Carian Regal Scepter
The Carian Regal Scepter is the best overall staff in Elden Ring. But to wield it, players will need to raise their INT stat to 60.
So it means that before you can wield this weapon, you’ll need to progress the story pretty far or farm for runes at one of the late game areas.
The Carian Regal Scepter is unique because it offers excellent stats that come at no extra cost. It’s also the only late-game staff with a special skill.
Spinning Weapon allows players to spin the staff in front of them, which helps with enemies that get too close. It also allows players to boost full moon Sorcery which contains some of the strongest spells in the game.

To get it, players will need to make their way to the end of Raya Lucaria Academy and defeat Rennala, the Full Moon Queen. Once you defeat her and obtain the Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen, head to the Twins location.
This will allow you to purchase the Carian Regal Scepter from them at the cost of the Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen.

Once Rennala is defeated, players will also be able to respec their characters at the cost of Larval Tears.
Once you have the staff necessary to survive in the end game areas of Elden Ring, you’ll want to make sure you have the best weapons that scale with Intelligence.
And to complete your build, make sure you make your way through Sorceress Sellen’s quest. It’ll reward you with some of the best Sorcery and armor for Intelligence builds in Elden Ring.
