The Tonic of Forgetfulness is an item you receive as you progress in Rya and Lady Tanith’s quest in Elden Ring, and you can give it to Rya or Brother Corhyn.

You get this item from Lady Tanith after Rya leaves for her following location in Volcano Manor. Here is how you can reach this point in Rya’s questline to obtain the Tonic of Forgetfulness.

Once you have this tonic, there are several options you have to use it. These are the possible outcomes of using this tonic.

1. Give the Tonic of Forgetfulness to Rya Before Defeating the Lord of Volcano Manor

After receiving the Tonic of Forgetfulness from Lady Tanith, you can immediately give it to Rya once you find her new location in Volcano Manor.

Taking this approach allows you to continue Rya’s quest up to a certain point. Eventually, you can get the Deadicar’s Woe Talisman if you choose to give this tonic to Rya at this point.

2. Give the Tonic of Forgetfulness to Rya After Defeating the Lord of Volcano Manor

After defeating the Lord of Volcano Manor, Rykard, you can find Rya at her last location in the Volcano Manor. Once you speak with her, you will have the option of giving her the Tonic of Forgetfulness.

If you decide to take this option, you will receive the Daedicar’s Woe Talisman after talking to Rya once more in her original location in the Volcano Manor.

On the other hand, if you do not give this potion to her, you will receive the Daedicar’s Woe Talisman and Zoraya’s Letter after reloading the area.
