Find out what Factions are in the upcoming arena–shooter Tom Clancy’s XDefiant.
Ubisoft has just announced the upcoming arena-shooter based in the Tom Clancy Universe called XDefiant. FPS fans will be used to fast-paced gunplay and personalized loadouts, but one part of the game that is puzzling gamers is the Factions System.
While XDefiant is a totally new series, long-time fans of the Tom Clancy games will recognize many of the game’s Factions. Instead of having classes like other games, Factions will determine what role you play on your team in XDefiant.
Each Faction in XDefiant will have its own traits, abilities, and an ultra that can help their team win the match. Players can also equip whichever weapon they want to any Faction and even switch Factions mid-game, making this a very flexible system for selecting player abilities.

All 4 Confirmed Factions in Tom Clancy’s XDefiant So Far
The first Faction in XDefiant is Echelon, which will be familiar to fans of the Splinter Cell series. They will act as a support class and the trailer shows them having some kind of night vision goggles Ultra.
Secondly, the Wolves from Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be the Tank. They will have abilities like a dome shield, which is perfect for protecting your teammates.
The Cleaners, from the Division series, will act as the Assault class in XDefiant. The trailer shows a Cleaner wielding a flamethrower, which could be an ability or Ultra for this Faction.
Finally, Division 2 players will recognize the Outcasts. They will be able to heal teammates by putting down healing beacons on the battlefield.
And those are all of the Factions in Tom Clancy’s XDefiant. Let’s hope gamers like these because Battlefield fans hate the new Specialists system that has replaced classes in 2042.
Meanwhile, a load of other games huge games are currently in development. An on-set photo could have revealed that Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 is already in development.
Also, the release dates for Halo Infinite and Call of Duty Vanguard have been leaked. Looks there will be some major competition for the top game this holiday season!
