Warzone’s Insane Movement Speed Rear Grips Just Got a Nerf

Warzone Season 4’s biggest balancing issues are now working as intended, as Taped and Leather grip no longer give insane movement speed.

If you’ve not had a chance to dive into Warzone Season 4 yet, there’s plenty to enjoy. Not only do we have new weapons, a major balance patch, and big changes to Caldera, but there’s more.

The fourth official Warzone map is here with Fortune’s Keep. And for those who know where to look, Fortune’s Keep’s incredible Easter Eggs will have players find golden weapons, buried treasure, and exciting secrets!

But the new Season 4 update also brought with it some significant issues. The first is the dominance of this overpowered NZ-41 loadout that it seems every Warzone player is using.

And the second is a ridiculous movement speed buff granted by certain grip attachments.

Warzone Taped & Leather Grip Movement Speed Is Working As Intended

If you’ve been enjoying running around like Sonic the Hedgehog in Warzone, you might be sad to hear that the Taped & Leather Grip attachments are now fixed.

For some reason, both the Taped & Leather Grip on Vanguard weapons would increase movement speed to a ridiculous extent. As such, Warzone has been full of players zooming around the map since the launch of Season 4.

Now though, all fast things must come to an end, as the attachments finally get their nerf in Warzone. It’s probably for the best, after all, Vanguard weapons already have an insane pick rate in Season 4!

“Taped Grip (and Leather) are now “as intended”, states Raven Software developer Tully Ackland. The Warzone dev confirms that the attachment causing such a major increase to player speed was a mistake after all.

But this may not be the end of high-speed Warzone forever as Ackland states that the issue may prompt the creation of a new LTM mode. Speaking of Limited Time Modes, Warzone players are currently calling for a Modern Warfare-only playlist, to take us back to the good old days of the Battle Royale’s launch.

And that wasn’t all Ackland had to say about the current state of Warzone. Not long after, the developer made comments about a potential nerf coming to one of Warzone Season 4’s strongest guns!
