Warzone Season 4 is here, but the game is near enough unplayable for some users on PS4 and Xbox One.
At this point, the PS4 and Xbox One consoles are 8 years old, far past their prime. But despite the consoles’ ages, they’re still excellent gaming devices, capable of much more than you’d expect.
And although a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S device is a major upgrade over the older hardware, they’re not necessary to enjoy your last-gen games. Unless, it seems, you’re talking about Warzone.
After an incredible Warzone Season 4 update, many gamers are reporting that the battle royale in almost unplayable on PS4 and Xbox One. Of course, the simple solution would be for players to upgrade their hardware, as the PS5 can now play Warzone at 120 FPS, but it’s not that simple.
Now 7 months after the launch of next-gen consoles, the devices are still in short supply. But we have a new week of big restocks for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S!
- PS5 Restock: GameStop, Best Buy, Antonline, & More Expected to Drop This Week – June 21-27
- Xbox Series X/S Restock: GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Antonline & More Expected to Drop This Week – June 21-27
Warzone Season 4 Low FPS Issue on PS4 and Xbox One
It appears that there’s a major issue with Warzone Season 4 on PS4 and Xbox One consoles. And some players are reporting that their FPS is taking a big hit because of it.
If you’ve noticed performance issues in Warzone’s new update, you’re not alone. In a new post on the CODWarzone subreddit, players are voicing their distaste for Season 4 update.
Reddit user _Connor goes as far as to call the Warzone Season 4 update “almost unplayable” on PS4 and Xbox One.
“I play on Xbox One, and ever since season 4, my FPS drops to literally like 15 whenever I get in the vicinity of an enemy player. Obviously this makes the game unplayable as my game pretty much stalls out every time I get in a fight.”
And _Connor isn’t the only one experiencing these issues, it seems. Another user reports that they’re unable to play anything other than Rebirth Island or their game crashes back to its dashboard.
A third fan confirms that their PS4 “stutters hard” in-game, and others on PC are also experiencing small FPS drops. If you’re on PC however, there’s an easy way to fix Warzone Season 4’s FPS issues!
As of right now, Raven Software is yet to comment on the issue, but we’re certain it’ll address the problem before long. After all, it didn’t take more than a day for the developer to announce that it’s nerfing Warzone Season 4’s most broken weapon.
