Warzone Players Are Upset Warzone 2.0 Reportedly Supports PS4 & Xbox One

Warzone 2.0 is reportedly launching on PS4 and Xbox One, but fans of the franchise are not so fond of this news.

If you are a Warzone fan, you might already know today was one wonderful day for the Call of Duty franchise.

Activision dropped a lot of news related to Modern Warfare 2 missions and story details. Along with that, plenty of Warzone 2.0 details also arise.

One of the critical pieces of information about the game is that, reportedly, it will support the old generation of consoles. Mostly, this is good news for those who have not been able to get a next-gen upgrade.

However, some fans are not thrilled about the possible implications PS4 and Xbox One support could mean for Warzone 2.0.

Warzone Players Complain About Warzone 2.0 PS4 & Xbox One Support

Alongside news concerning launch window, anti-cheat, and other Warzone 2.0 details, players learned the game supports PS4 and Xbox One consoles. This old-gen support has enraged some of these fans.

Mostly, players are upset because of the limitations this previous generation console support could mean for the game.

One thing most players expect from Warzone 2, especially from consoles, is a complete revamp in the graphics department.

The game is not bad-looking by any means. Nevertheless, it is not up to the standard of what PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles could achieve.

Additionally, highly requested features like FOV are currently missing on consoles, which could be due to performance limitations.

Activision is internally mentioning Warzone 2.0 brings groundbreaking innovations with it.

However, gamers are upset and complaining, as old-gen support could hinder this progress on newer consoles.

Gamers Want Warzone 2.0 to Be Current-Gen Console Exclusive

Even though many gamers want current-gen exclusives, it is still hard to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X console.

Scalpers are still an issue in restocks, and console production is still not enough to meet demand. Despite these problems, gamers still believe it is unfair to see the previous generation “hold back” current consoles.

Some gamers mentioned the money factor. The install base of PS4 and Xbox One consoles is enormous. For a free-to-play title like Warzone, this factor is something Activision is most likely not willing to ignore.

Yet, players are expecting the company decides to do what is best for the game and not for the financial revenue alone.
