Warzone & MW2 Season 5 just added a new Battle Buddy feature to the game – here’s what Gwen can do and how to get her!

It’s time for a new season in Warzone & Modern Warfare 2, and one of the most interesting new additions is the reveal of the ‘Battle Buddy’.

This new feature allows players to add a new virtual assistant to their game, but there’s only one way to get your hands on Gwen:

How to Get Gwen Battle Buddy in Warzone / MW2

The only way to unlock the Gwen Battle Buddy assistant is to unlock Arthur in the BlackCell upgrade of the MW2 Season 5 Battle Pass. The game’s first Battle Buddy comes packaged with Arthur and his K9 unit, Merlin.

Arthur is available in the BlackCell starting section of the map, which means that all you’ll have to do to unlock him (and the bundled Battle Buddy) is to buy the more expensive Battle Pass.

Of course, this won’t be for everyone, as the BlackCell Battle Pass will set you back $29.99.

There are currently no other Battle Buddies available in MW2 or Warzone, meaning that anyone wanting to unlock the new AI virtual assistant feature will have to purchase the more expensive Battle Pass.

What Is a Battle Buddy in Warzone?

A Battle Buddy (or Gun Screen) is a virtual assistant that acts as a mini-announcer in-game in Warzone & MW2, complete with some additional personality.

Battle Buddies will call out Killstreak activations, comment on kills earned with specific weapons or equipment, and will congratulate her player on a solid performance.

“Just perform well with her equipped, because she has no time to assist with anything but a successful mission,” Activision notes.

The first MW2 Battle Buddy is called Gwen, and she’s only accessible by purchasing the Season 5 BlackCell Battle Pass.
