Warzone's Gulag is one of the most iconic features of Activision's battle royale, but right now it's in the worst state that it has ever been.
If you're a long-time Warzone fan, you'll know about the legendary Gulag of Verdansk. A 1v1 taking place in a prison shower area, this was the ultimate test of skill that would give players a second chance at life, provided they came out on top.
Of course, even the original Gulag had its issues, but Warzone players are looking back on it with rose-tinted glasses. Because when Black Ops Cold War integrated with Warzone, the battle royale got 2 new Gulag experiences - and neither one was good.
Since then, players have begged Activision to bring back the original Warzone Gulag, to no avail. In fact, the Gulag has only deteriorated with every passing update.
And now, after the worst update in Warzone history just dropped, Warzone's Gulag is the at its lowest point.
Warzone Gulag Is Worse Than Ever, According to Fans
In a new passionate post on the CODWarzone subreddit, fans discuss the Warzone Gulag becoming worse than ever before.
Although the Gulag has never been perfect, it's currently the worst it's ever been, according to fans. Although the new Nuketown Gulag is an interesting idea, it just doesn't work in the way that its predecessor did.
On top of the lack of symmetry, players also take issue with a range of changes that Raven Software has made to the Gulag.
Second, as Reddit user OhioBoi17 points, out, the new Gulag is very camping-heavy, thanks in no small part to the amount of LMGs in rotation.
"The M82, RPD, RPD, and more turn the gulag into a campfest and don't give a player time to react if they are shot first. The ADS time is longer than the TTK in the gulag most of the time."
The user also draws issue with the abundance of powerful lethal and tactical equipment in the game. With Semtex grenades, there's almost no need to use your weapon, and Snapshots make tracking enemies easy.
As a minor issue, players are also sick of getting out of the Gulag chair every single time they're sent to the arena. And fans argue that the 1v1 should go back to the basics, just offering a pistol to each combatant.
Recently, Dr Disrespect had an idea to improve the Warzone Gulag. But of course, that didn't come to fruition.
We just have to hope that the new Ural Mountains Warzone map which just leaked has a better Gulag experience. But it looks like we could return to the showers in the upcoming 1980's Verdansk Warzone map first.
