Black Ops fans can rejoice at last as Mason should be coming as an Operator to Cold War and Warzone soon.
When Black Ops Cold War first released, fans were confused as to the location of one all-too-familiar face. Despite Alex Mason being the protagonist of the original Black Ops, and a major player in Cold War, he's not yet a part of the Operator roster.
Thankfully, it seems we won't be waiting for our favorite numbers-obsessed soldier for too much longer. After all, a new leak from the Cold War game files is revealing that Mason may be coming very soon.
And with Black Ops Cold War getting its missing character at last, Modern Warfare fans believe that Soap is also coming to Warzone soon.
Let's just hope that they don't give Mason a horrendous new look, like they did with Soap.
Alex Mason Operator in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone
There's one notable character missing from Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, but Alex Mason could be coming soon.
In the original Black Ops storyline, Mason undergoes brainwashing by the Soviets at Vorkuta, becoming a sleeper agent. Implanted in his mind was the knowledge to interpret outgoing broadcasts from Dragovich's numbers station, alongside the goal to assassinate John F. Kennedy.
Throughout the storyline, Mason's head is infested with the mysterious numbers that would lead our heroes to stop an impending Nova 6 attack. And because of this, it's down to Hudson and Weaver to interrogate the CIA operative into telling them what the numbers mean.
Now, it seems that other Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Operators will be interrogating Mason further. Thanks to a series of voice lines in the Cold War files, we can hear every Operator asking Mason about the numbers.
This could be a part of the upcoming Nova 6 event in Warzone, something most players forgot was ever leaked.
It could also be a part of the Zombies/Nuke event coming in Warzone's Plague Mode.
New Voice Lines in Black Ops Cold War Season 2
With Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded's release date nearing, perhaps that's when Mason will be joining the cast.
"The numbers Mason, what do they mean?"
The iconic line is coming back once more in Black Ops Cold War, it seems. This comes thanks to TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, who has uncovered a series of voice lines through datamining.
Even newer Operators like Samantha Maxis and the Season 2 cast are joining in with the interrogation. This suggests that Mason is going to appear as an Operator soon, and possibly with a unique event.
It's worth noting that the Game Show map in Cold War already has a reference to Mason. After all, the show's in-universe title is: "What Do The Numbers Mean?"
Right now, players are angry that Cold War and Modern Warfare have the least 6v6 Multiplayer content in the series so far. But that may not be the case for too much longer.
After all, Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard is already re-using assets, most likely due to serious time constraints. And despite a new WW2 Vanguard Warzone map coming in 2022, we're yet to even see much of Cold War's incoming battle royale arena.
We do, however, have our first image of the new Warzone map that should release in April.
