Call of Duty: Warzone hit a turning point when Activision introduced all of Black Ops Cold War's guns to the game. Now, players are calling on the game's developer to reverse this recent change.
Since the introduction of Cold War weaponry into Warzone, players believe that the game has only gone downhill. There have been new bugs, overpowered weapon metas, and broken attachments being discovered with every passing day.
It's clear that the Cold War implementation has gone anything but smoothly, however, some fans don't wish for it to be fixed. Instead, a new petition calls on Activision and Raven Software to remove the Cold War guns entirely.
Right now, Warzone's best gun is a Cold War weapon, meaning that reversing the implementation would change the meta completely. Now that Warzone pros are confirming that the DMR 14 nerf hit the gun hard, a new Cold War weapon has taken its place.
Remove Cold War Guns From Warzone?
In a new popular post on the Warzone subreddit, players express their distaste for the recent update by asking the developers to remove Cold War guns from the battle royale.
According to the post, the best way to "make Warzone great again" would be to repeal and replace the Cold War integration. As unrealistic as this update may be, we understand why the post-maker holds this opinion.
Despite the weapon finally being in a good place now, the overpowered DMR 14 was ruining Warzone for a long period. What's more, Warzone became Pay to Win with the addition of this Cold War Blueprint.
Now, many Warzone players want the game back as they remember it. And instead of giving the developers more time to fix their mess, fans are calling for a complete 180.
Not all players share this passionate opinion, however. One Reddit commenter expresses their own thoughts on the matter:
"I don’t get this logic. It’s not the integration that’s the issue, it’s the fact they did it poorly. Integrate all the new weapons well and we would be having totally different conversations."
We imagine it's very unlikely that Warzone will go back to solely containing Modern Warfare weaponry. However, it may be possible for Warzone's new leaked map to contain only Cold War guns.
If this is the case, it's possible that the developer could free Verdansk from the complex meta.
Given that Cold War is the best-selling game of 2020, it's likely that Activision will push implementation even further. With over 85 million Warzone players now forced to play with Cold War guns, the publisher is baiting even more success to its latest release.
