A brand new Warzone 2 map, Vondel, will be released in Season 4, and fans are eager to know more about the upcoming location.

After only receiving three maps in over two and a half years in the original Warzone, players are being treated to a third map just seven months after Warzone 2 was released.

When Is Vondel Coming to Warzone 2?

Vondel will be coming to Warzone 2 in the Season 4 update for the Battle Royale game, according to the official roadmap.

Season 4 is releasing on June 14, 2023, and it appears this map will be the prominent feature of the update.

Beenox, a company from Quebec, made the map, and they are the development team for the PC version of Call of Duty.

Beenox was also the team behind the fan-favorite Rebirth Island map back in the original Warzone game.

What Modes Will Vondel Support in Warzone 2?

Vondel will support DMZ and Resurgence when the map initially launches in Season 4. The DMZ mode will allow 18 operators to play in-game.

Meanwhile, in Resurgence, there will be 72 player battling it out. Additionally, in Season 4 Reloaded, Vondel will support the regular Battle Royale mode.

Where Is Warzone 2 Map Vondel Set?

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is the setting for Vondel. The exact location of the area is most likely to be in the south of the European city.

The map’s name, Vondel, comes from Vondelpark. Vondelpark is a public urban park in the south of the capital.

We will also likely see some familiar locations from the MW2 campaign, as Amsterdam was one of the many locations in the story.

Reliable Call of Duty dataminer, HeyImAlaix has found the POIs that will be in the Warzone 2 Vondel map. Here is what you can expect:

  • City Hall
  • Fire Station
  • Nieuwe Stadspoort
  • Old Museum
  • Floating House
  • University
  • New Museum
  • Police Station
  • Stadium
  • Cruise Terminal
  • Train Station

According to the roadmap, the Stadium and City Hall are amongst the 15 POIs on Vondel. The blog post also references a medieval Castle and an abandoned zoo, which are not on the datamined list.

What Does Vondel Look Like?

Vondel is a suburban area of the Netherlands and will feature a ton of houses, landmarks and public amenities.

The map looks to be very bright, compared to the gloomy landscape of Ashika Island. In addition, you’ll discover tightly clustered townhouses, charming alleyway cafés, and an array of diverse settings to thoroughly explore and strategically utilize.

Dataminers have also found references that point towards a day and night version of the map. These could be two separate versions or it could mean a day/night cycle.
