Infinity Ward is introducing new changes to the movement speed while plating in the Warzone 2 Season 2 update.
One of the biggest complaints players have had in Warzone 2 is the inability to sprint while plating. They believe the slow movement speed while plating contributes to less competitive gun fights.
This is because even if you have plates, it can be a death sentence to try and put them on while in battle. While Infinity Ward isn’t adding the ability to sprint while plating, they are bringing some changes to address these issues.
Warzone 2 Improves Movement Speed While Plating
In the Season 2 Community Update, Infinity Ward has confirmed they are increasing the movement speed of players while plating.
This Season 2 update will include a “slight increase to movement speed while plating” to allow players a bigger window of opportunity to reach cover while reinforcing themselves.
Players will also have the ability to bust through doors while plating. Although, this doesn’t necessarily mean players can sprint while plating. Infinity Ward was specific in saying it was only a “slight increase” to a player’s movement speed.
We have yet to see this increase in speed, but it may be closer to sprinting speed than they’re leading on.
In the original Warzone, players could plate while sprinting. This allowed players to reinforce themselves while obtaining better positioning for a counter-attack. In Warzone 2, Infinity Ward removed the ability to plate while sprinting, leaving many players frustrated.
Thankfully, it seems that Infinity Ward is taking some measures to address these issues. Not only is movement speed being increased, but Warzone 2 will also remove armor vests in Season 2.
All players will start with slots for three armor plates, which will remain throughout the match.
They’ve also made it easier for players to jump back into the fight after redeploying from the Gulag thanks to some changes to the Warzone 2 economy.
It seems that Warzone 2 Season 2 will be a huge stepping stone for Al Mazrah and could define the next few months for the franchise.
