Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded has heavily nerfed the AI soldiers at Stronghold sites in Battle Royale.
Strongholds are an important location in Warzone 2, as it is one of the only ways to obtain your loadout early in the match.
The AI soldiers at these locations have been considered too strong by the community, so this nerf will certainly be a welcomed update.
As well as that, there have also been other changes implemented, which will make getting your loadout all that much easier!
Stronghold AQ Soldiers Nerfed in Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded
The nerf to AI soldiers in Warzone 2 includes reduced damage, reduced numbers as well as an increase in time between AI waves.
Here are the official patch notes:
- AI bullet damage decreased by 26%
- Number of AI spawning in Strongholds reduced by 50%
- Other reductions will be made based on Squad Size
- The time between AI soldier waves has been doubled
- Number of AI soldiers per wave reduced by 30%
It seems these changes only apply to Battle Royale and not DMZ.

Warzone 2 Black Sites AI Have Been Made Stronger
While AI soldiers are much easier to fend off at Strongholds, Black Sites are now harder.
The Black Site update has made AI soldiers spawn with additional armor, making them much more difficult to eliminate.
However, the increase in difficulty does seem to be balanced. Completing a Black Site will now award you an upgraded permanent UAV around the Black Site area.
The UAV around the Black Site was already in the game, but it has now been buffed to differ from a Stronghold UAV.
This UAV will now sweep twice as far and is 30% faster! So make sure you attempt to complete a Black Site, as it could make the difference in winning the game.
More Strongholds Will Spawn in Warzone 2
On top of all the AI changes, additional Strongholds will now spawn across the map. Originally only 3 would spawn per Battle Royale game, but this has now been increased to 5.
This is a significant change and will now let more players access those custom weapons earlier in the game.
With the AI nerf and increase to Stronghold locations, getting your loadout has never been easier in Warzone 2!
