Warzone 2 players seem to be calling on Activision to add a night version of Al Mazrah after both Verdansk and Rebirth Island received the after-dark treatment.
One of the biggest improvements that Al Mazrah has been praised for over maps like Caldera and Verdansk is its lighting. Finally, Activision seems to have managed to make a Battle Royale map with good visibility.
Now fans are actually calling for less visibility, so long as it comes with a new, darker take on the newest BR arena.
A new post to the Warzone subreddit by user EMADALDEN221 shows off what Al Mazrah would look like in a potential night mode.
Of course, it’s one thing to hope for a nighttime version of Al Mazrah and another thing entirely to actually have fun playing on it.
Most likely, the already camper-heavy map would be full of mounted guns with Warzone 2’s most broken thermal sight attached. But if Raven Software was to add MW2’s night vision goggles as they appear in the Campaign’s opening mission, that could be another story.
Should Warzone 2 DMZ Get a Night Mode?
Another great candidate for a night mode is DMZ, Warzone 2’s extraction shooter mode.
This would perhaps be more suited to the dark, as there are fewer players on the map, and the mode is a more tactical experience overall.
Even better could be a day/night cycle, where players are forced to either extract within a certain time or proceed with caution as the sun goes down. And unlike in Warzone, a DMZ night cycle would be far fairer for all players, as well as adding some much-needed variety to the mode.
Speaking of variety, all new Faction Missions are coming to DMZ very soon – but say goodbye to your existing ranks and loot pool!
Is Night Mode Coming to Warzone 2?
No, so far there has been no word as to whether or not a night mode will come to Warzone 2 or DMZ.
It’s very possible that we’ll see a night variant of the map arrive alongside the inevitable Halloween playlists in October 2023, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
However, Warzone 2 is getting massive changes in Season 2, with more to come in the future.
And perhaps our new Warzone 2 Resurgence map will get a night variant before Al Mazrah does. After all, Rebirth Island received a darker LTM on more than one occasion.
