Yes, Call of Duty has confirmed that Season 2 for Warzone 2 & MW2 is being delayed. The new date for this season is now February 15, 2023.

The official account for Call of Duty sent out a tweet revealing the new date for the second season as well as what players can expect.

Right now, all eyes are on Modern Warfare 2’s second season to ‘save’ the game. Despite boasting incredible sales, fans are getting fed up with the latest Call of Duty title’s lack of content and major gameplay issues.

According to the in-game Battle Pass countdown, Warzone 2 & MW2 Season 2 should begin on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Previously, leaker CODSploitzImgs, who has accurately leaked release dates for past store bundles, the game files suggested that Season 02 will kick off on February 15, information which has now been confirmed.

Based on this delay, the final Season 1 bundle could arrive on February 2.

In the past, the leaker claims, all store refresh dates have ended prior to the start of the next season.

Why Is Season 2 Delayed?

Call of Duty did not provide a reason for the delay to the upcoming season, although one can be speculated.

Perhaps Activision’s studios simply struggled to ramp up production again, following their annual Winter break. And with Resurgence confirmed to be arriving in Season 2, they may need more time to finalize the details on the new map.

The company also noted they have been listening to issues put forward by the player base. Changes to the Gulag, looting and loadouts will all be coming in the next season.

This delay reflects last year’s situation perfectly, where Call of Duty Vanguard Season 2 was pushed from February 2-14 in order to fix issues and apply further polish to the game’s next major update.

Warzone 2 Ghost

Season 2 of MW2 & Warzone 2 already had its key art leak almost 2 months ago. If this leak proves true, we’ll be seeing a Japan theme and the return of the Castle map this February.

With the delays to Season 2, the update needs to be what fans are hoping for. Evidence suggests that Warzone 2’s player count is dropping fast, as players tire of the new Battle Royale’s issues.
