One-shot snipers have finally come to Warzone 2 in the Season 3 update, but you’ll need to equip explosive ammunition to give snipers the ability to kill with a single headshot.
What’s more, each of the three sniper rifles that can become one shot kills, the MCPR-300, Victus XMR, and the brand-new FJX Imperium (Intervention), require a different kind of explosive ammunition.
Luckily, unlocking these explosive ammunition types isn’t too difficult, even if it can be a little time-consuming.

What Does Explosive Ammo Do for Snipers in Warzone 2?
Explosive ammunition is a powerful attachment that allows bolt action sniper rifles to kill with just one headshot in Warzone 2. It also increases damage range by a huge 40%.
Unfortunately, equipping explosive ammunition to any sniper rifle also reduces its bullet velocity by 40%.
This means you’ll want to choose a barrel and muzzle that boost bullet velocity. Also, you’ll have to get some practice leading targets and accounting for bullet drop if you want to hit headshots.
If you find that the explosive ammo slows down bullet velocity too much, equip High Velocity ammunition instead, but you’ll lose one-shot headshots. Alternatively, you can use one of the best Warzone 2 assault rifle loadouts for long-range combat.
