Warzone 2.0 Gulag Map, Details & How to Redeploy

The Gulag is back in Warzone 2.0, and players can once again enter the arena for a chance to redeploy. Except for this time around, you won’t be alone.

The original Gulag allowed players to enter a 1v1 situation and test their skills against another playing, fighting to redeploy.

But in Warzone 2.0, you’ll be placed in a 2v2 multi-level arena where every battle can be unpredictable. Players will have even more options than before to redeploy.

How Does the Gulag Work in Warzone 2?

Warzone 2.0’s Gulag places two randomly created Duos against each other in a 2v2 arena with predetermined loadouts where they’ll need to either join forces or fight against each other to redeploy back into Al Mazrah.

Warzone 2.0 Gulag Map & New Mechanics

The gulag map is now a live fire training complex that functions as a prison with multiple means of escape. These are some of the new mechanics for this revamped Gulag map:

  • The Gulag will now be a 2v2 Duos match instead of the familiar 1v1 battle arena.
    • Your teammate will be another random player from the lobby looking to redeploy.
  • Gulag is now a place where you form a temporary alliance with another player who is also looking to redeploy. This means that, for that moment, you are allies, but once you gain redeployment, you will be enemies again on the battlefield of ‘Al Marzah,’ the Warzone 2.0 map.
  • There is now a Jailer AI that both Duos can defeat by joining up together.
    • If the players defeat the Jailer, all four players will be redeployed.
  • Overtime is no longer an option. If players fail to eliminate the enemy team or the Jailer, all four players will be denied redeployment.

How to Redeploy from Warzone 2 Gulag

There are two different ways to redeploy from the Gulag in Warzone 2.0:

  • Defeat the two enemy players with the predetermined loadout that you are given.
  • Join up with the enemy duo and defeat the Jailer AI.
    • The Jailer will appear in the circle platform between both teams.
    • This will redeploy all four players in the Gulag.
    • They have a large health pool, so if you try and take them on alone, you’ll be at a disadvantage.
    • Their mini-gun takes a bit before it starts firing. Use that time to unload your clip on the Jailer.

Once you redeploy, you’ll need to join up with your teammates and obtain your loadout as soon as possible if you hope to survive the new Circle Collapse System in Warzone 2.

Warzone 2 Gulag Active Loadout

The current Warzone 2 Gulag Loadout includes:

  • Either a Shotgun or Handgun as a primary weapon.
  • One Lethal Grenade
  • One Tactical Grenade

Although, this can change as the season progresses.

Can You Redeploy From Warzone 2 Gulag Alone?

No, because of the new changes implemented into Warzone 2, players can either redeploy with their duo or with all four players in the Gulag.

This means that teamwork is now essential to redeploy and join up back with your team.

Is There Proximity Chat In Warzone 2 Gulag?

Yes, the new proximity chat feature in Warzone 2 is active during the Gulag stages. This allows you to communicate with your teammate and the enemy duo.

This opens up an interesting dynamic because you can bargain with the enemy Duo to team up more easily and aim to defeat the Jailer AI so all four players can redeploy.

Can I Still Redeploy If I Lose My Gulag Match?

Yes, if you play Duos, Trios, or Quads and lose your Gulag match, your team will still have the option to buy you back from the Buy Station 2.0.

Although, if you are playing Solos and lose in the Gulag, then you will no longer be able to revive yourself.

Can I Enter The Gulag Multiple Times In One Match?

No, once you enter the Gulag, you’ll only be able to fight back for redeployment once. The next time you die, you’ll need to be bought back by a teammate.

Also, you will no longer be able to access the Gulag after the final circle closes.

During your match, you’ll receive an announcement when the Gulag Redeployment Period ends. From that point on, no players can redeploy from the Gulag for the rest of the match.
