Finding all the Stronghold spawn locations in Warzone 2 and DMZ will allow players to obtain some of the best loot in-game without spreading themselves too thin.
But they’re not as easy to find as one would want. Here is every possible Stronghold spawn in Warzone 2 & DMZ!
Warzone 2 & DMZ Stronghold Locations Map (All 77 Possible Spawns in Al Mazrah)
Here is where to find all 77 Stronghold spawn locations in Warzone 2 & DMZ. Please note that not all of these locations will be Strongholds every match.
5 different Strongholds will spawn in Warzone 2 Battle Royale after the first circle collapse, while 10 different Strongholds will spawn in DMZ from the very start of the game. Here are all the possible places they can spawn in Al Mazrah:

Strongholds function slightly differently in Warzone 2 and DMZ. In DMZ, players can see Strongholds from the very beginning. They’ll be marked by a Stronghold icon on your map.
These Strongholds contain valuable loot and are sometimes the destination of one of the many Faction Missions.
To access them in DMZ, you’ll need to find a Stronghold key card from an AI or purchase one from the Buy Station for $5,000.

In Warzone 2 Battle Royale, the Strongholds won’t spawn until later after the first circle collapse, and once they do, they’ll be open to all players on the map. You will not need a key to access them.
If you manage to clear a Stronghold in Warzone 2, you’ll be able to unlock your loadout. But if you’re looking to get your loadout, then it’s best to also arm yourself with the best loadouts in Warzone 2.
Best Locations to Drop Near a Stronghold in Warzone 2
The best locations to drop in Warzone 2 Battle Royale to help you reach a Stronghold faster include:
- Al Mazrah City
- Sawah Village
- Al Sharim Pass
- Ahkdar Village
It’s recommended to stay on the east side of the map. You can see in the map of Al Mazrah above that it houses almost 65% of all the Stronghold spawn locations.
This means you’re guaranteed to be near at least one Stronghold spawn, if not multiple. This makes it easier for you to get your loadout early in the game.
What Are Strongholds in Warzone 2 & DMZ?
Strongholds in Warzone 2 are special buildings controlled by AI enemies (AQ Soliders). Once you kill all of the AQ Soldiers inside and surrounding the building, you will be able to collect your custom loadout, tons of cash, and more special loot from inside the building as a reward.
If you successfully loot a Stronghold in Warzone 2, you’ll also earn a Black Site keycard which you can use to enter a Black Site and get the best loot in the game.
Strongholds in DMZ require a key and are the best areas for acquiring loot and even items to complete Faction Missions. Strongholds in Warzone 2 don’t require a key and can be accessed by anyone.
How Many & When Do Strongholds Spawn?
5 Strongholds spawn in Warzone 2 Battle Royale after the first circle collapse. This was originally 3 but Infinity Ward added more Strongholds in the Season 1 Reloaded update.
The first circle collapse in Warzone 2 happens four minutes after the match starts. This means that you’ll have four minutes to position yourself near a spawn in hopes a Stronghold appears there.
In DMZ, 10 Strongholds spawn immediately from the beginning of the game.
If you don’t want to wait for a Stronghold to pop up in Warzone 2 then you can customize a weapon and buy it from a Buy Station!
One of the best meta AR weapons to have in Al Mazrah is the Fast TTK Taq-56 loadout.
Why Are Strongholds Locked?
In Warzone 2, Stronghold areas are locked until the first circle collapse. After the first circle collapse, any Stronghold that spawns will be automatically unlocked and anyone will be able to access them without a key.
Strongholds only require a key for access in DMZ. Despite not being locked in Warzone 2 Battle Royale, Strongholds will have plenty of enemy AI guarding them.
