Warzone 2.0 has a brand-new loadout system that is replacing the familiar Loadout Drops that every Warzone fan scrambles to pick up!
There are plenty of major changes in Warzone 2.0 with almost every aspect of the game getting some tweaks in the battle royale sequel.
Perhaps the biggest Warzone 2.0 change of them all has to do with custom weapon loadouts. There’s a brand new loadout system that players will have to get used to if they want to pick up their custom weapons.
But before you find out all of the details about the new loadout system in Warzone 2, check out the enhanced weapon customization in the brand-new Gunsmith 2.0.
Are There Loadout Drops in Warzone 2?
There are no Loadout Drops in Warzone 2.0 but players can still get their custom weapons through ‘The Shop’.
As Loadout Drops have not made the jump to Warzone 2, there is a new way in which players can get custom weapons. Fans of the prior BR title will be familiar with the Buy Station mechanic, which is getting a big upgrade.
In Warzone 2.0, custom weapons can be purchased separately from loadouts.

How Can You Get Custom Weapon Loadouts in Warzone 2.0?
Players can get custom loadouts in Warzone 2.0 in two different ways:
- Heading to an enhanced Buy Station named ‘The Shop’ and purchasing weapons separately.
- Defeating a Stronghold filled with AI enemies.
Warzone 2.0 Buy Stations
According to Activision, Warzone 2.0 Buy Stations will be known as ‘The Shop’ and offer an enhanced array of products.
If players have sufficient cash, they’ll be able to purchase Custom Weapons from these stations, taking up their weapon slots.
As ever, you’ll need to put these weapons together in your Gunsmith before bringing them into the Warzone. However, Perks will not be in Warzone 2.0 at launch, so don’t expect to bring them in alongside your guns.
Strongholds in Warzone 2.0
Strongholds are heavily guarded buildings that are scattered across the new Warzone 2 map – Al Mazrah. Your squad will have to breach into the building and take down the enemies inside.
After you have defeated the Stronghold, you will get a key that lets you pick up one of your customized Gunsmith weapons at The Shop for free!
This is a big departure from the Loadout Drops falling from the sky in the original game. Only time will tell whether fans enjoy this change to the tried and tested formula.
But while fans might mourn the loss of Loadout Drops, there’s one exciting new feature coming to Warzone 2.0 that has players celebrating!
