Warzone 2.0 – Everything We Know: Release Date, Sandbox, Anti-Cheat & More

Infinity Ward just released new information about Warzone 2.0, including the release date, a new sandbox mode, and what we can expect from the launch.

Many gamers have been wondering what Warzone 2.0 will bring to the Call of Duty community ever since it was announced alongside MW2.

Now, Infinity Ward has finally revealed some exciting new details. These new details seem to point to a wholly revamped Warzone experience.

The follow-up to the 2020 BR has been long-awaited, with many fans seeing the original game as bloated after 2 integrations.

Warzone 2.0 Release Date

Warzone 2.0 will release alongside Modern Warfare 2 with a brand new progression system and same-day Ricochet Anti-Cheat implemented.

Infinity Ward announced that Modern Warfare 2 will release on October 28th through the official artwork reveal. But Warzone 2.0 has yet to receive an official launch date.

All we know for sure is that it’s coming later this year alongside Modern Warfare 2. As well, we now know that Warzone 2.0 is launching on the following platforms:

  • PlayStation 4/5
  • Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
  • PC on Steam and Battle.net

Warzone 2.0 New Features & Gameplay

Warzone 2.0 is being developed by both Infinity Ward and Raven Software. Players will see some familiar things in vehicles and other mechanics like swimming and mantling.

But most of what Warzone 2.0 is bringing is entirely new. There will be a brand new sandbox mode and even a new playspace for players to explore. More intel for these two will be available as we get closer to release.

Call of Duty will develop both MW2 and Warzone 2.0 using the same technology to ensure they work seamlessly together.

It’s safe to say that what we saw from today’s Modern Warfare 2 single-player gameplay reveal is what we can expect to see in Warzone 2.0 in terms of graphics.
