A new in-game hint regarding the rumored Warzone 1980s Verdansk map has appeared in a specific map location. Interestingly, the new item was added in a recent update and it has hinted that the rumored map might in fact be a reality for Warzone players.
Recently, the trailer for the new Warzone map leaked revealing a surprise 1980s setting. Since then, the trailer has been taken down and Activision has desperately been trying to keep their plans secret.
Currently, Verdansk is being overrun by a zombie epidemic. Players are having to deal with the undead alongside the usual multiplayer experience. Interestingly, many players believe that the zombie issue is going to result in Verdansk being nuked, as the new “Verdansk Goes Boom” calling card seems to suggest.
Similarly, It is thought players are going to be transported back in time after the destruction of Verdansk event. the new Warzone map is likely to take place in the leaked 1980s version of Verdansk, however, Activision has not officially revealed this yet.

A new reference to Warzone’s 1980s Verdansk map has been located at the in-game Superstore location. The item is a new discovery that gives players the first hint as to the next Warzone map.
The item was recently added to the game in the latest update. Players can find this hint themselves if they know where to look.
Twitter user @TheGhostOfHope has highlighted two new in-game posters, which make reference to Warzone’s 1980’s Verdansk map.
Take a look at the Tweet just below to see the images for yourself. This appears to be the first official reference from the game developer to a 1980’s Verdansk. It appears to suggest that the leaks are correct and that players can expect to see the map at some point soon.
Interestingly, the posters make reference to an international multi-sport Olympic event. The posters are a direct replica of the 1980s Summer Olympics, also knows as the Moscow 1980.
Although it might seem irrelevant, Black Ops Cold War is also set in the 1980s which is why Warzone could be going to this time period too. However, Black Ops Cold War’s integration into Warzone has led some players to ponder whether the game was better before this decision.
