Call of Duty Vanguard will officially have a Zombies mode, with Treyarch at the helm.
It seems that the rumors were true – Zombies is returning in Call of Duty Vanguard. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, given that Zombies in Vanguard was leaked weeks ago.
Also, Call of Duty WW2, Sledgehammer Games’ last project, also had an excellent Zombies experience. But this time around, the developer needed a little help getting the mode ready, it seems.
Recently, we’ve been hearing leaks about Call of Duty: Zombies Chronicles 2 coming very soon.
And one new rumor even reports that Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 2, and a standalone Zombies game are on the way!
Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies Mode Revealed
Call of Duty Vanguard will be getting a major Zombies mode set in the new Dark Aether storyline.
Little is known about the upcoming game mode right now, but Activision is confirming that Treyarch is taking the reigns this time around. Although Sledgehammer Games is Vanguard’s official developer, this is the first crossover to feature two major development studios working on a Call of Duty title like this.
With the game taking place in WW2, Vanguard’s Zombies will be a precursor to the events of Die Maschine.
What’s more, the experience will intertwine with the ongoing Dark Aether storyline in new and interesting ways.
But with Treyarch having only finished 3 round-based Zombies maps for Black Ops Cold War in total, this news is disappointing some fans. After all, if a developer is already working on an upcoming game, it doesn’t bode well for Cold War.
“I think this is where I get off. Making zombies annual with only 4 or 5 maps per cycle is not enough to warrant $70 every year,” writes Reddit user PK-Ricochet.
Other users echo this sentiment, pointing out that all previous Black Ops titles had more Zombies content than Cold War. In fact, Black Ops 4 recently launched with as many round-based maps as Cold War has in Season 5.
However, Vanguard will at least launch with a staggering amount of Multiplayer maps! And players can try them out by signing up for the new Vanguard Open Beta here.
According to Activision, we’ll hear more details about Vanguard’s Zombies mode around Halloween 2021.
And at least we’re hearing that Vanguard’s next-gen graphics are insane, leading us to believe that this could be the best-looking Zombies content yet!
But with Vanguard’s Ultimate Edition taking up 270 GB of space, expect a heavy download at launch. And Vanguard’s release date isn’t far away – be sure to invest in a new hard drive.
