Call of Duty Vanguard’s rumored Radar perk is already causing some controversy after players have noted it brings back a feature from past COD titles.
Vanguard is looming ever close to its release date, but first players have the beta to look forward to. Recently, fans were given more details on the Vanguard Beta, including maps, game modes, weapons, operators & more.
Now, players even know exactly what to expect from the maps themselves, after one insider revealed Beta map details ahead of its release.

Now, a new rumor has appeared which may cause frustration for players. Interestingly, the rumor is with regards to the new ‘Radar’ perk, which doesn’t appear to be all too useful.
Vanguard Radar Perk
Vanguard is due to release in around a month’s time, however, this hasn’t stopped information leaking regarding the upcoming COD title. Although many perks were revealed in the recent Vanguard Champion Hill Alpha, there is still plenty more to uncover.
The most recent rumor concerns the upcoming “Radar” perk. MW2 OG on Twitter recently made this claim regarding the perk:
I’ve been told that there’s is a Perk in #Vanguard called ‘Radar’ “Enemies appear on the mini-map if they fire an un-silenced weapon”@TheMW2Ghost
Interestingly, many have noted that this doesn’t actually appear to do much for players. Furthermore, the Radar perk actually makes it so that the Vanguard mini-map behaves like classic Call of Duty titles.
Therefore, understandably players are wondering why the developer has decided to introduce this as a perk. In fact, similar mini-map problems occurred in Modern Warfare (2019), which many stated encouraged camping.
Funnily enough, many Alpha testers reported that Vanguard’s Champion Hill has a huge camping problem. It’s also a concern that many players will opt for the Radar Perk & Suppressor attachment, in order to become undetectable.
So, what do you think of the rumored Radar Perk in Vanguard? Do you think it has its uses, or should Sledgehammer Games have left the classic mini-map intact?
We already know many details about Vanguard’s Gunsmith, including its huge weapon attachment slots. Perhaps there will be stronger weapon & Perk combinations to alleviate some worry.
Furthermore, there is also a huge amount of maps coming to Vanguard at launch, twenty to be precise. If you want to know more information about the upcoming maps, take a look right here.
