Whilst players are busy jumping into some WW2 action, others are more concerned with the problems they’ve encountered so far. And seeing as other Call of Duty games have been plagued with issues, it’s no surprise that this is already causing some concern.
Now, it appears that Red Star, a map focussed around the historic Battle of Stalingrad, is suffering from some serious issues.
Vanguard Beta Red Star Visibility
According to a number of reports, Vanguard Beta players are already experiencing some hiccups with the game. Frustratingly, Red Star, a map that features a snowy war-torn environment, is suffering from massive visibility issues on last-gen and next-gen consoles.
Furthermore, multiple Call of Duty sources has reported a similar thing, claiming that the PS4 Pro is simply not able to handle busy areas. ModernWarzone, a trusted source had the following statement to make regarding Red Star in the Vanguard Beta:
Interestingly it appears that Red Star in particular is causing players the most hassle. According to ModernWarzone’s findings, the PS4 Pro may not be powerful enough to render the game effectively.
Furthermore, it appears that Red Star is also simply too big, with many claiming it is an odd choice for a 6v6 map. Whilst other Vanguard Beta maps seem suitably designed, Red Star is clearly not performing as well as it could for some players.
This news is especially concerning given that Vanguard is designed to be played on both last-gen and next-gen consoles.
Despite this, the Vanguard Beta has just started and teething problems are to be expected. Similarly, an Open Beta is designed to flag up these issues prior to a game’s launch, so we shouldn’t jump the gun too early.
Although, balancing issues are also a concern at the moment, with Vanguard’s new Suppression mechanic already looking broken.
