It’s finally time to drop into the Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha but players are calling the new Champion Hill mode boring.
Getting to play your most anticipated release of 2021 early is always a good time. Except when the game developers lock you into a mode that you hate.
It seems that although fans can currently hop in and play Vanguard for themselves at last, many are disappointed with the new Champion Hill game mode. We’ve got a full explanation of Champion Hill in Vanguard here.
Already, fans of the franchise are voicing their complaints to Sledgehammer Games. And although Vanguard looks absolutely stunning, it’s not getting the warmest of receptions.
Vanguard Champion Hill Isn’t Fun, Claim Players
Vanguard’s Champion Hill game mode just isn’t doing it for a lot of players, with complaints about not having fun being prevalent.
In a series of posts to the official CODVanguard subreddit, players are having no issue voicing their feelings.
“The game mode that they chose for the Alpha isn’t fun, like at all,” claims one user.
“The game is cool but this Champion Hill gamemode is terrible. Gunfight was better, like WAY better,” writes another.
But what exactly do players hate about Champion Hill in Vanguard? For many, it’s the forced introduction of a new gimmicky battle royale mode when the staple of Vanguard will be 6v6 Multiplayer.
After all, Vanguard is launching with an insane number of 6v6 Multiplayer maps, and we can’t wait to see them in action. Instead, we’re getting a Champion Hill game mode that’s significantly more boring for our Vanguard debut.
Players point out that Champion Hill’s lives system is leading to a major camping issue in Vanguard already! Partner that up with the broken new Blindfire mechanic and you get 2 teams just sitting on either side of the map in wait.
Spawns are also a major issue, with the game sometimes deciding to spawn you directly opposite an opposing sniper-wielding user. And there are already big complaints about the Vanguard visibility in Champion Hill too.
Already Xbox fans are claiming they’re uninterested in Vanguard, due to the upcoming release of Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042. Then again, only PlayStation fans are actually able to play the game for themselves right now.
We’ll have to hope that Vanguard players have a better time in the game’s upcoming Beta. Here’s how to play the Call of Duty Vanguard Open Beta as well as all the details you’ll need!
