Patch 2.0 for Valorant is here and Brimstone has been BUFF'd, big!
An agent who was being selected in only 2% of pro matches due to Omen's viability at Controller. Brimstone has seen a number of buffs while Omen is being nerfed.
Brimstone Buff Details
Improvements coming both big and small, like eliminating sound from Brimstone when he confirms his Sky Smokes.
As well as larger range from 4200 to 5000, and longer duration from 14.25 seconds to 19.25 seconds.
Additionally Brimstone's Stim Beacon now an instant cast becoming more aggressive and responsive with team combat. An issue that Riot themselves states they notice Brimstone struggles within the execution of playmaking potential.
Omen Nerf Details
These changes on their own combine with the decrease in speed for Omen's smoke ability Dark Cover from 4000 to 2800.
This cripples Omen's ability to quickly respond to enemy movement and relocate, instead requiring more planning from Omen players.
We also see a comparative decrease and increase in ability costs between the two agents, furthering the positional balance for Controller. Molotov for Brimstone is seeing a decrease from $300 to $200, while Omen is seeing their ability Paranoia increase from $200 to $400.
Rumor also has it, while not in Patch Notes, Omen's short teleport is suffering a nerf, perhaps due to the new agent Yuro.

This helps Brimstone players effectively cut off routes and cover bomb sites for longer periods. While Omen will still make use of one of the most effective abilities in the game Paranoia.
Overall, things are exciting for 2.0. Brimstone should see an increase in pro play, and Omen a decrease from their 100% selection rate.
Meanwhile, a change is already coming to the newest agent, Yoru’s Fakeout Ability Is Already Getting a Buff.
