Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is adding Omnimovement and Intelligent Movement, two new mechanics that will change the game forever – but can you turn them off?
Black Ops 6 is turning heads with its ‘action hero’ gameplay, courtesy of Treyarch’s brand-new Omnimovement.
The new movement mechanic will allow users to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, and even turn mid-air to fire at enemies behind you. Combine that with the studio’s new ‘Intelligent Movement’ system and Black Ops 6 is sure to feel like a totally unique Call of Duty experience.
But for fans who enjoy traditional COD gameplay, can the features be switched off?

Can You Turn Off Omnimovement?
No, there is no way to turn off Omnimovement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in Campaign, Multiplayer, or Zombies.
This is due to Omnimovement being a ‘core, foundational feature’ of the game.
This news was confirmed during the first ever episode of the official Call of Duty podcast, AKA the COD POD.
The new movement system, which allows users to sprint, slide, or dive in any direction for the first time in the series’ history, is permanently enabled.

Users don’t have to make use of the game-changing new movement techniques, but they’ll always be available should they change their minds.
During the podcast, Associate Director of Design at Treyarch Matt Scronce explained that mastering Omnimovement isn’t necessary to enjoy Black Ops 6.
“You can still be successful playing the way you played before,” Scronce confirms. “If you just want to slow down, you can, and you can still be successful. You just might not look as cool.”
Bear in mind that while you don’t have to use Omnimovement in Black Ops 6’s Multiplayer, other players will certainly take advantage of it.

And while Scronce insists that the team has taken steps to ensure Omnimovement isn’t frustrating to fight against, it’ll almost certainly become a powerful piece of kit to have under your belt.
Can You Turn Off Intelligent Movement?
Yes, players are able to turn off either all or part of the new Intelligent Movement system in Black Ops 6.
Matt Scronce describes Intelligent Movement as ‘a suite of player settings that can be turned on or off.’ By default, the Intelligent Movement settings are set to off for everyone.
We actually got a look at some of these settings during the Black Ops 6 showcase:

Intelligent Movement is a set of features designed to drastically reduce the number of buttons you need to press to complete a given maneuver.
With select settings enabled, players can sprint, mantle, crouch and more without having to think about pressing the correct inputs.
Not only can these settings be enabled, but they can also be fine-tuned to match a user’s preferences.
Unlike Omnimovement, you’ll be able to choose whether or not you use Intelligent Movement whenever you boot up Black Ops 6!
