Treyarch’s Call of Duty 2024 May Return to 1 Year Cycle, Leak Reports

A recent leak revealed some information about the future of upcoming Treyarch Call of Duty titles, including the upcoming 2024 release.

The future of Call of Duty certainly is secured as it is one of the best-selling franchises in the gaming industry. However, the way Activision produces these games is still up in the air.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard certainly brought a lot of plans about Call of Duty to light.

As usual with mergers, a lot of information became public, and many reports started circulating about CoD in particular.

For instance, right after Microsoft announced the acquisition, a Bloomberg report unveiled Activision considered stopping the yearly Call of Duty releases.

According to a recent leak report, this cadence change could not affect upcoming Treyarch projects.

Leak Suggests Treyarch 2024 Call of Duty Game Could Be A Yearly Release

Prominent Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope revealed the rumored two-year lifecycle for other upcoming CoD games has not been confirmed for Treyarch’s 2024 project.

According to this information, Activision has not relayed this change to Treyarch. This means that we could still see a Call of Duty 2025 following a yearly cadence from that point on.

Even if this is the case, things could rapidly change after the studio finishes its current projects in development. A two-year support strategy could come later down the line.

Regardless, Activision nor Treyarch have officially confirmed any of this information. So, take this leak report with a grain of salt.

It is indeed hard to tell what Treyarch’s action path could look like. Right now, Vanguard received the Operation Monarch crossover, and Season 3 recently started.

Additionally, Vanguard Zombies recently received new easter eggs. It is clear Treyarch still has plenty to give for Vanguard.

Therefore, the future of upcoming projects could remain up in the air for the time being.
