How to Grow Potential in FIFA 23 Career Mode
Before you sign any of these wonderkids, you must know how to grow their potential!
There are four ways in which you can grow a players potential in FIFA 23.
Development Plans
Development plans are one of the best ways you can impact your players overall. Putting your player onto a beneficial plan can increase their rating.
However, putting them on a plan that does not suit their skillset can negatively impact them.
Hover over the plan you wish to select and you can preview how it will impact the players rating.
Here’s how to find the development plans:
- On Career Mode menu, go to Squad Hub.
- Press X or A to enter.
- Press X or A on the player you wish to develop.
- Under the Squad Tab select Development Plan
- Now you can put your player onto a plan.

Game Time
The best way to grow your wonderkids potential is to to play them. The more they play, the higher overall they will become.
Make sure to try win as many games as possible as form can impact growth!
Training Drills
Just like real-life, practice makes perfect. You can increase specific stats on your players by assigning them training drills.
The better they train, the quicker they will improve. Be careful though, over training your player can result in them picking up injuries!
You can find the training drills on the front page of the Career Mode menu under “Training Day”.

Loan Deals
If you don’t have a current spot for your wonderkid in your team, send them out on loan. Sending your player on loan benefits both the club and player.
The player won’t be wasting their potential and you will keep them happy by giving them the game time they need.
