10. Uchigatana + Bloodhound’s Step
The Uchigatana has been at the center of many builds in the past, thanks to its length and ability to inflict bleeding into enemies.
But on its own, you won’t get much use of it. To make the best of the Uchigatana, it’s always best to imbue it with some sort of Ash of War.
Using an Ash of War helps the Uchigatana, but to truly level up your gameplay, using the Bloodhound’s Step is a must.
The Bloodhound’s Step is actually one of the best Ash of War in all of Elden Ring. It allows players to gain a temporary movement of invisibility that can evade most enemies. However, some PvP players frown on others that use the Bloodhound’s Step.
With the Uchigatana, you can quickly dodge an attack, land your own attack, and then quickly move away from danger.
The Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War can actually be obtained fairly early in Elden Ring.
After Update 1.06, this combo is still effective. However, it will now take players more strategy to defeat their opponents due to the nerf the Bloodhound Step Ash received:
- Bloodhound Step Ash
- Reduced performance when used continuously
- Increased travel distance when on light equip load
Location: Found in the Deathtouched Catacombs near Stormhill. It can also be obtained as the start equipment for the Samurai class.

9. Bloodhound’s Fang
The Bloodhound’s Fang is a Curved Greatsword with massive power that can be slightly changed to appeal to any player. It’s the only weapon that uses Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade that can be imbued with different abilities through grease or Sorcery/Incantation.
Its special weapon skill allows players to backstep and follow up with a devastating attack. It’d be higher on this list, but it can be a little difficult to master.
If you time your skill wrong, then you leave yourself wide open for enemy players to attack. Even one wrong move can cost you a duel.
Especially when players can one-shot you using just a shield.
Location: Dropped by Bloodhound Knight Darriwill in the Forlon Hound Evergaol.

8. Bloody Helice
The Bloody Helice is a heavy thrusting sword that can decimate your enemy’s health bar. Players can use it to quickly poke at their enemies.
This will inflict bleed damage which can lead to blood loss. Inflicting blood loss in a PVP match is basically obtaining victory.
The Bloody Helice has great range, and its special weapon skill, Dynast’s Finese, allows players to gracefully backstep and poke at their enemy. If you follow up, you can also perform a heavy lunge that does incredible damage.
Location: Finding it will require players to make their way to Writheblood Ruins.

7. Winged Scythe
On paper, the Winged Sytche is fantastic. It’s a reaper that scales with both Faith and Dexterity while having incredible reach and dealing Holy damage.
Its special weapon skill, Angel’s Wings, will propel players upwards and follow up with a powerful slash on their enemies. Once an enemy is hit by this, they’ll be unable to heal using their flasks.
So not only is this weapon great for providing damage, but it’ll also stop your enemies from healing themselves.
It’s one of the best Faith weapons in Elden Ring, but it proves to be equally ruthless in PVP duels as well.
Location: Players can find it in the Tombsward Ruins near the Weeping Evergaol, where players fight Ancient Hero of Zamor.

6. Banished Knight’s Halberd or Golden Halberd
The Banished Knight’s Halberd and Golden Halberd are like two sides of the same coin. On one side, the Banished Knight’s Halberd is less powerful, but it can be imbued with Ashes of war. On the other side, the Golden Halberd is more powerful and also comes with the Golden Vow as its special weapon skill.
The Golden Vow allows players to gain increased damage. But both are excellent due to their range and power.
When a player dual-wields a Halberd with another long weapon, it can destroy their enemies in PVP.
Despite the Golden Halberd having a unique weapon skill, some might say the diversity of the Banished Knight’s Halberd makes it more viable.
Players that still want to add the Golden Vow to their inventory can do so with the incantation.
Locations:
- Banished Knight’s Halberd – Dropped by Banished Knight enemies in Stormveil Castle.
- Golden Halberd – Dropped by Tree Sentinel near where you meet White Mask Varre.

5. Vyke’s War Spear
Vyke’s War Spear is a Great Spear that scales off Faith, Dexterity, and Strength. It’s great for players looking to design their build around Dexterity with a hint of Faith.
Its former owner has one of the more interesting stories in Elden Ring since they were on the same route as the player before they descended to madness.
Vyke’s War Spear inflicts madness on the player and the enemy it hits. Its ability to thrust and inflict madness makes it one of the most potent weapons in Elden Ring.
Its special weapon skill, FrenzyFlame Thrust, lunges players forwards and performs a plunging attack that sets off an explosion of madness.
When using it on PVP, it’s great at keeping your enemies a distance from you, but it also gives you the option to quickly close that distance if necessary.
Location: Drops from Festering Fingerprint Vyke in the northeastern region of Liurnia of the Lakes.

4. Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear
Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear is a Great Spear in Elden Ring imbued with the blood abilities of Mohg, Lord of Blood.
It’s one of the most powerful Arcane weapons in all of Elden Ring, and it can single handily take down most enemies.
What really sets this weapon apart from most is its special weapon skill, Bloodboon Ritual. The Bloodboon Ritual inflicts bleeding on enemies while also dealing fire damage. It also leaves Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear imbued with Bloodflame.
This means that your ability to inflict bleeding is more powerful, and you also have the reach of a great spear. It’s also incredibly difficult to dodge the Bloodboon Ritual since it can target enemies behind walls and objects.
Location: Obtained after defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood, and turning in the Remembrance of the Blood Lord to Enia.

3. Clayman’s Harpoon + Glinstone Pebble Ash of War
This weapon is primarily dependent on the Glintstone Pebble Ash of War, which is incredibly powerful in PVP. The Glinestone Pebble Ash of War takes out a large chunk of your enemy’s life bar and leaves them completely open for a thrust attack from your Clayman’s Harpoon.
Finding both is relatively easy as well. For the Glinstone Pebble Ash of War, you can simply purchase it from Sorcerer Rogier relatively early on.
For Clayman’s Harpoon, you’ll need to wait a little longer since you can’t obtain it until you’ve progressed through Ranni’s quest line.
Once you’ve obtained both, then you simply need to add the Glinstone Pebble Ash of War to your Clayman’s Harpoon at a nearby Site of Grace. But when doing so, make sure to use the Magic Affinity.
Location: Found in the Siofra River Well Depths.

2. Cross Naginata Dual Wield
The Cross Naginata Dual Wield bleed build is the current meta in Elden Ring. It has a fantastic reach, and using it alongside the Seppuku Ash of War basically guarantees that you’ll slay your enemies in one or two hits.
It’s currently overpowering the Elden Ring meta. So much so that you might encounter a few players using this build when playing Elden Ring PVP.
For a full breakdown of the build, you can check out our guide here! You’ll need the right talisman and Wondrous Physick to really reach your full potential.
Location: Found in the Gael Tunnel. Before the boss fight that rewards you with the Moonveil Katana.

1. Rivers of Blood
The Rivers of Blood has constantly been one of the best weapons in Elden Ring for every category. It tops our list for best overall weapons in Elden Ring for a reason.
The Rivers of Blood is unforgiving and relentless. Once players start attacking, it’s very likely that they won’t stop until their enemy has fallen.
Its special weapon skill, Corpse Piler, unleashes a flurry of blood-soaked attacks that inflict bleeding on your enemies. This allows players to quickly build up to blood loss and make quick work of their enemies. The Rivers of Blood scales with Arcane and Dexterity.
It’s the main weapon used in the Vampire Build, which heals you as you defeat enemies.
After Update 1.06, this weapon remains an excellent choice. However, it will now take players more strategy and hits to defeat their opponents due to the damage nerf it received
- Rivers of Blood
- Corpse Piler – Decreased damage and bleed build-up when hit with the blood attack, slight damage decrease when hit with blade
Location: Dropped by defeating Bloody Finger Okina in the Church of Repose towards the eastern region of the Mountaintops of the Giants.
