This Store Bundle Weapon Charm Is Completely Breaking Black Ops 6 Zombies

Call of Duty players who purchased the Death Rattle bundle from the in-game store find that its Weapon Charm renders Black Ops 6 Zombies completely unplayable.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 is finally here, and with it comes the introduction of the Call of Duty Store. Now players can purchase additional cosmetics with real money, and show off their new Operator skins and Weapon Blueprints in-game.

This year, fans can even purchase high-rarity GobbleGums for the price of a full Battle Pass, making the Zombies grind easier for just a few of your hard-earned dollars.

But if you’re a Zombies fan, you might want to avoid the Death Rattle bundle right now…

Time of Death Weapon Charm Breaks Black Ops 6 Zombies

It appears that the Time of Death Weapon Charm, obtained as part of the Death Rattle bundle, will completely break Black Ops 6 Zombies when equipped.

The unique Weapon Charm is set to count how many kills a player earns in a given match, making it a fun way to show off your skills to enemies who see your Kill Cam in Multiplayer.

However, it appears that Treyarch forgot to check how the Charm would respond to Zombies mode.

UPDATE: Treyarch has now rolled out a patch that should fix the Time of Death Weapon Charm in Black Ops 6 Zombies. The original article continues below:

Although the Charm is fine when counting up to 999 kills, eliminating your 1000th undead will cause your game’s frame rate to tank immediately.

PSA: If you use the Time of Death weapon charm that you get from the Death Rattle bundle (weapon charm that counts amount of kills per match), your game will bug out once you hit 1000 kills because the charm isn't programmed to count that high. Saving and quitting won't fix it. (Recorded on PC)

What’s interesting is that you can swap out the weapon and restore your game to full working condition. But something about having the Time of Death Charm on your gun when there are too many kills to display will make Black Ops 6 Zombies fully unplayable.

We doubt this is high up Treyarch’s list of priorities right now. Therefore, if you’re looking to purchase the Death Rattle bundle, just be sure not to take this particular item into the round-based survival mode.

It appears that more than a few users have already encountered this issue, with some players calling the item ‘Pay to Lose’. After all, you are spending 500 COD Points (~$5) just to make your game unplayable.

And with very little Zombies content in Black Ops 6 Season 1 so far, it’s certainly not ideal that some of the new additions will actually shut down your gameplay.
