Call of Duty fans, get ready to showcase your throwing skills as the Throwing Star is finally equipable after being delayed from Season 2 Reloaded. This item was already in the game but could not be added to loadouts.
Although it functions like the Throwing Knife, the Throwing Star comes with a faster release, more range, and a higher stock.
To utilize this equipment in-game, players will need to unlock it in MW2 or Warzone 2, and here is how you can obtain it.
How to Get the Throwing Star in MW2 & Warzone 2
You will need 50 kills with the Throwing Knife to get the Throwing Star. This can be completed in Warzone 2 or MW2.
Unlike the GS Magna and the FTAC Siege, the Throwing Star is unavailable through a store bundle. You must complete the challenge to obtain it.

One of the best ways to complete this challenge is by loading into small-sized maps such as Shipment or Shoothouse. This is because you will have more opportunities to get kills.
If you do not own MW2 and are playing Warzone 2, we suggest you complete this challenge in Plunder. Plunder is a respawn game mode, meaning you will have much more time to get kills.
Unfortunately, it seems that the Warzone 2 playlists will intermittently remove Plunder. So ensure that you complete it while the mode is still available.
For kills to count in Warzone 2, you must finish the enemy with the Throwing Knife. Simply downing them will not count towards completion.
Do Melee Kills Count as Throwing Knife Kills?
No, melee kills do count toward Throwing Knife kills. This piece of equipment must deal the final blow to count towards completing the task.
Melee kills are a completely separate kill type in MW2 & Warzone 2, and this challenge specifies that it must be Throwing Knife kills. You must throw the Throwing Knife to kill an enemy for it to count.
One of the most significant additions this season is the release of Warzone Ranked Play. This competitive mode will be very sweaty, so you need the best loadouts to keep up with the top-tier players.
