This week’s Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour event, which is taking place from 6 PM to 7 PM local time on October 3, 2023, features the classic Water/Psychic-type Pokemon Slowpoke!
For the duration of this event, Slowpoke will spawn in the wild much more frequently, making it the perfect time to farm Slowpoke Candy, or catch a perfect Slowpoke.
Plus, there’s good news for shiny hunters, as well as an excellent in-game bonus for all players!
Can You Catch Shiny Slowpoke in the Pokemon GO Slowpoke Spotlight Hour?
Yes, you can catch the shiny version of Slowpoke during the Slowpoke Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO.
Any Slowpoke you encounter in Pokemon GO has a 0.2% chance of being shiny. This means that 1 in every 500 Slowpoke in the game is the light pink shiny version.
Despite being the featured Pokemon of the event, the Slowpoke shiny odds are not boosted during the Spotlight Hour. However, it is still the best time to catch shiny Slowpoke, as plenty will be spawning wherever you are!
October 3 Slowpoke Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour Bonus
The bonus for the October 3 Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour is 2x Candy for transferring Pokemon.
To make the most of this bonus, you’ll want to hold on to any Pokemon you plan on transferring until the Slowpoke Spotlight Hour starts. That way, you’ll be able to get double the Candy for any Pokemon you transfer.
This is perfect if you need some more Candy to evolve or power up Pokemon. Plus, it also lets you get plenty more Slowpoke Candy during the Spotlight Hour if you transfer the ones you don’t need.
