What Happens to Ellie in The Last of Us?
In The Last of Us, Ellie and Joel travel across America searching for the Fireflies’ base. However, when they reach the Fireflies, Joel learns that Ellie will have to die so a cure can be made.
Considering how much they’ve been through and how close they’ve become, Joel rejects this idea. Instead, he kills all the Fireflies and rescues Ellie from the doctors.
He then takes her to his brother’s new home in Wyoming, where they settle for a few years. However, after a tragic incident ruins Ellie’s life, she sets out on a quest for vengeance, thus starting the events of The Last of Us Part 2.
