PlayStation Store Lists The Last of Us 2 Release Date as “Coming Soon”

The Last of Us 2 Release Date - PlayStation Store

It appears as though PlayStation has accidentally leaked The Last of Us 2 release date, just not in great detail.

The Last of Us 2 Release Date “Coming Soon”

In a recent listing on the official store, Sony appears to have featured The Last of Us Part 2 under the “Coming Soon” category for PS4. The highly-anticipated sequel happened to be featured among a host of other soon to be released games. These included: Days Gone, Mortal Kombat 11, Rage 2, Control, Blood and Truth, Concrete Genie, and much more.

Interestingly, the vast majority of these games are just around the corner, with a release scheduled within a matter of months. Days Gone, for example, will be launching on PS4 on April 26.

PlayStation US alongside UK, Germany, and Italy were the first to receive store updates confirming that The Last of Us 2 will be coming soon as a PS4 exclusive.

When is The Last of Us 2 Coming Out?

While “Coming Soon” can technically mean anytime within the foreseeable future, it’s impossible to put a finger on an exact The Last of Us 2 release date as of yet. It’s believed that, however, Sony wouldn’t incorporate this under the section unless the game’s release was approaching, whether that be by the end of this year or a matter of months.

NEW INTEL: The Last of Us 2 Workbench UI Menu and Different Pistol Types Leaked.

Surprisingly, the latest listing of The Last of Us 2 “Coming Soon” has since been taken down by PlayStation. Players can take this a few ways. Either this was a mistake on their staff’s behalf and removed because it wasn’t correct, or it was taken down as it was prior to when they intended to implement The Last of Us 2 into this category.

While all leaks and rumors prior to this hint at the upcoming sequel dropping in 2019, Gaming INTEL is very confident on its release arriving this year. An earlier update back in March by Peruvian retailers may suggest its launch will be in October, although there is no official confirmation via Naughty Dog to support this at the moment.

Only recently, PlayStation held their first-ever “State of Play” livestream. An array of die-hard fans were eagerly waiting for additional details on the upcoming installment. However, they were soon lead to displeasure after nothing was announced. It’s still possible that the upcoming State of Play episodes will unveil details regarding The Last of Us II, however.

What are your thoughts on The Last of Us 2 coming soon? Will you be eagerly waiting to find out what the next highly-awaited Naughty Dog title will deliver?
